AOM 60 shot AFFTA Match Saturday June 30th
Come join us in a day of Field Target. Expected setup 32T to 35T. Enjoy Lunch with us after (10$ for 60 targets and Novice shooters shoot 30 targets.) Practice Range opens at 8:30 am and match will start 10am after a brief safety meeting. As always ….. Weather permitting.
Our local meteorologist is calling for a low of 69 and a high of 84 for Saturday the 30th. Our lanes are fairly shaded from the shooting position and we will have plenty of cold water available. Troyer 31.5 with a good variety of shots. All Affta targets on the ground are mounted this year on cement blocks that are pretty much facing the shooting line. (Bracketer's dream) Any one that shoots 95% or higher gets to shoot free next year! 🙂
AOM June 30th FT results
We had a warm humid day to shoot a 60 shot match. Thanks to an occasional breeze and cold bottled water we weathered the 90 degree humidity. We enjoyed AFFTA shooters from Mass, Long Island NY, and Texas.
John Erol Led the WFTF class with a respectable 44 hits at our 60 shot match with a 31+ Troyer. Matt Sawyer led the WFTF springer class with 36/60 shooting his new HW97 and his girl Kelsey managed a 23/60 shooting the same air rifle. Tom Wade prevailed in the Hunter class and second overall with a 40/60 with his EV2. We had seven novice shooters which included 3 Juniors. 15 year old Mia Kelley took high honors in the Jr. class with a solid 17/28 with her friend Lauren Clayter close behind with a 14/28 shooting her first match. Carl and Vicki Freeman took the senior couple’s class tied with a 9/28. Junior Garrett Lee shooting his first match dropped 6/20 and Brian and Joy Watt took 1st place in the Middle aged couples class with a 21/40.
Special Thank you to Tom and Nancy Wade for coming all the way from LI, NY to spend the day with us. Also Matt S, Kelsey, and John E for coming up from Mass for our annual FT shoot. We are pleased to brag that this was our second “No Cold line match” with targets and strings all holding up well. Those that hung around to eat after the event didn’t leave hungry. Appreciate everyone that came and supported our Airgun event. A special Thanks to my Wife Doreen and daughter Trisha for preparing and cooking most of the food. Thanks to Vicki and Joy for bringing a casserole and brownies.
