These things fit Phillips screws the way good hollow-ground gunsmith bits fit straight screws. Zero slop, zero cam-out. JIS stands for Japan Industry Standard, and trust me, they have a different profile from your standard Phillips bit. Much better bight, much better torque, less boogered Phillips screws.

JIS screws have different slot geometry, using a phillips on a JIS screw is a recipe for disaster.

Yes but...
Using a JIS bit on a Phillips screw is fit, grip and torque bliss. it's a one-way street 🙂 Hence the OP.
