I started out with an Avenge X in 25 cal, because the shop didn't have it in 22 cal. I'm extremely happy with my choice. I decided to purchase a 22 Barrel Kit and decide that I would clean it well before putting on the Avenge X. So for after scrubbing with brushes ans well treated bore cleaners, I still get an awful lot of black on the patches. I looked at the bore with my scope, and it still doesn't look clean. Has anyone one else have this problem getting a new barrel clean before shooting it. The 25 cal was not a problem at all, but this 22 has me concerned. Over 30 patches and they still show signs of fouling. The bore finish is really dark and rough looking.

The bore of the .22 barrel on my Avenger (not Avenge X) was one of the roughest I have ever encountered, and was indeed very dirty when it arrived.  After smoothing it with J-B compound, it stays clean longer and is easier to clean when the time comes.

I bought.22 classic Avenge- X and .25 cal barrel. .25 barrel had dried dark substance that had lied on one area full length of barrel, like it was coated at factory and packaged and sit a long time. Took a lot of nylon brushing with Ballistol and it finally cleaned up where almost unnoticeable. Haven’t installed it so don’t know how it will shoot but, looks good.
