Hello, I am working on a Crosman 114. The compression chamber filling head at the front is threaded in with (I believe 21/32 x 32 thread count). Tried 5/8 x 32 it's too small. tried 11/16 x 32 it's too big. The problem is the threads inside the barrel are brass and flattened, so I can't get a bite on it to thread it in. How can I chase/clean up those threads. Cant find any taps or thread chasers that size. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hello, There's a tap that size but, it's on the expensive side. Below is a link.

Hope this helps, good luck.

Hello Shooter, I saw this on e bay  yes it is a little pricey. And not sure what the xGH3 means  the picture is definitely not a 32 thread count. Had someone say he can make a tap for me but it would cost $230. That's not happening, LOL    I will figure a way to clean them up.

Thank you for responding   have a great day

If you have a steel screw of the correct thread, you can turn it into a light duty tap by filing cutting slots into it.  Reducing the leading diameter (resemblance to a plug tap) would help help.  Going further you can case harden it with case hardening compound to make it more durable.

The thread may be metric.

None of the vintage Crosman threading is metric.
