No secret, I love to collect and repair prewar BSA. So here's a BSA folding peep sight missing it's adjustment screw. Goes on a BSA Standard Long Tom pattern. Not my nicest one but that's ok. I can take it out and shoot it no worries. I really enjoy to share the sport. Especially with young people. So I can take it to a picnic and shoot it with folks and not have to worry about salt from potato chips on hands. Sweat. You know. It's rebuilt with a new home made leather seal.
The screw was made in two parts. The knurled part is pinned to the screw after it's in place. That way it can't fall out and get lost. Well, somehow it did LOL! Could have been 100 years ago. We won't know! And that's how I got it. So anyway,First I made the threaded part. Single pointed the threads(one of my specialties) on the lathe. Then made the little knurled knob. Another lathe job. After the tiny pin is in place and peened a little to anchor it, I used a triangle needle file to hide it in the knurles. Came out real nice. I have to cold blue it.
So much fun to whap soda cans with this rig!
