Hey guys,

I know that AAFTA rules allow a  2% FPS variation at it's events. But what does the WFTF World's do?

Thanks,

 Cam

There is a table at the end of the comprehensive rules:

http://www.world-field-target-federation.com/Rules/Comprehensive#ANNEXURE%E2%80%93A

This table can be superseded by local law, E.G.: England, Wales, etc. Where the legal limit is exactly that. A limit. Over by 0.1% and you get DQ'd.

Your best bet is to tune to around 11 ft-lb, to give yourself ample margin for MV changes due to weather conditions, or cheap chronos.

Thank you Hector!

I was scanning over the rules bit couldn't seem to find that information.

Worlds does not have any allowance for being over 12 ft lbs.  The chart on the WFTF site reflects that.

With 8.4's the limit is 802, I try to stay about 780-785 max.  If your equipment varies greatly, it is wise to keep it even lower as Hector recommends.

At a Worlds meet there is an equipment check the day prior to the match start.  If you are over at this check you may adjust and try again, no penalty.

Thanks Greg,

I've since removed one shim from my gun, brought the velocity down only about 8fps.

The elevation of Krakow poland is around 700ft, I'll drive to a friend's home at that elevation to test the velocities with various shims.

Being under 12fpe with my setup at sea level with some thinner air I'm sure it will give me a safe buffer.
