I have been tuning and playing with my TX200 for a couple years. It shoots well but there is always new and improved parts and advice.
So far I started with a Walnut stock standard length Mark 3.
Scope is Aeon 10-40x56 trajectory retical . I plan to up grade to a sightton soon.
I did some clean up work on the trigger and changed the blade to a Rowan adjustable brass piece.
I am using a vortex 12 ft lb spring.
It shoots 7.87 AA pellets at 800-815 fps.
I also added a hamster and am going to add an adjustable recoil pad
Racer X,
Beautiful gun! I understand the Aeon scopes are not springer rated. I have a Aeon and a Sightron on a couple of PCPs. You are definitely going to like the sightron! Where do you shoot Field Target?
Roger Barker
Middlefield, Ohio
I started shooting with DIFTA in Maryland . I moved to Iowa and not have to drive three hours to Wisconsin to shoot.
i have not had a problem with my scope . The side wheel came loose and I had Todd over the whole side turret to repair it. Three screws under the turret base backed out. I have mostly been at 12 ft lb so it is not a real harsh shot cycle
I sure do wish my Pro Sport would have come with walnut like That! Mine is now set to 12 ft/lbs as well (Vortek). Shoots like a dream. I was thinking about the AEON scopes since the rifle is so sedate now...I just worry about wrecking the scope!
I have not had a problem with the scope. But that said. After 35 yards it is difficult to tell the yardage exactly. For field target that is a critical thing. It works great for the 300 dollar price. But that is why I am going to Sightron.
This was before the addition of the Rowan brass trigger gaurd.
I just ordered the adjustable recoil pad from Rowan.
Mike, I feel the same way about my PS's stock. Its the dullest "walnut" I ever seen. Nothing and nowhere near his.
Mike, your PS has 4 stock screws as mine only has 2. why?
Racer X, how is the accuracy? Also, I hear or heard that the Vortek springs wear out prematurely. How has your experience been?
I don’t have a problem with the spring. I test it often.
Accuracy is better than I can shoot. Five shots from a bench rest at 25 yards is under a dime.
From my seated position I can keep three or four under a dime some of the time . And under a quarter most of the time
Curious about the extra screws located near the breech as seen in the pic above. Did it come that way?
~GOD BLESS~

That is a .177 in bottom of pic tuned with the Vortek 12 ft spring and new seals from Chambers... The other TX is my new .22 and I have not had a chance to work on it yet...
Here is another pic of the .22 showing no "extra" screws at the breech...

Today I was thinking about the piston weight reduction that has been going on. I have a steel top hat in my TX200 my 3 it shoots at 11.3 ft lb. with air arms 8.4 diablo pellets

The steel top hat weighs 13.4grams . I made a duralin top hat. It is 3.4 grams or ten grams lighter. I made it 3 mm thicker.
With the same Air Arms 8.4 pellets

I’m not sure I want to try lightening the piston anymore. That is as good as I have ever gotten.
Those are great numbers.
That's one beautiful and good shooting TX you have there, glad your efforts have paid off.
I have a couple of old MK1's and they sure are a lot of fun to shoot and tinker with.
It's also nice to see a springer post amongst the pcp stuff!
it doesn't have two screws because yours is not a Pro Sport. The TX does not have two screws. Only the Pro Sport.
