Palmyra Sportsmen's Association (near Hershey, PA) - Long Range Field Target - Saturday, November 1, 2025

Long Range Field Target is a field target game using higher powered airguns than other FT games. Guns cannot exceed 80fpe at the muzzle, and we recommend using at least 28fpe gun to knock down longer range targets. Common calibers in use are .22, .25, and .30 caliber.

This event will follow a shotgun start format. Registration and sight in is 8:45am - 9:45am, followed by a shooter's meeting at 9:50am, and first shots down range at 10:00am. Cost is $15.

Targets will be placed between 15 and 115 yards. This is a 42 shot match, 7 lanes, 3 targets per lane, 2 shots per target. Targets will be a mixture of kill zone style targets and knockdown silhouette targets. Distances to the targets will be provided. One lane will be a standing lane.

This match is held on our covered Competition Range, and will be shot rain or shine. The range has a concrete pad, so this is friendly to shooters with low mobility.

Last LRFT of 2025, should be a fun match. Seems it will be a nice day on Saturday. Probably will have the heaters running on the range to stay warm in the morning. Rumor is we will have some new 80-100fpe rated targets to test that a local maker has been working on, if all goes well, the targets are expected to be available for purchase next year.
