A NEW monthly winter airgun shoot at Delaware County PA Field & Stream…OFFHAND OFFICE!

Delaware County Field & Stream Association DCFSA

713 Chester Creek Road, Brookhaven PA 19015

The Offhand Office is open Sunday 2 Nov. from 9AM to noon-ish.

You can arrive anytime at the Air Rifle Range at the top of the hill.

(Drive past the clubhouse, drive uphill past the shotgun fields on your right, continue to the end of the lane.)

For Field Target shooters, and all airgunners who want to bolster their skills in the winter months, the ‘under roof’ Offhand Office awaits!!!

Use your Field Target gun, or bring a specific 10-meter rifle or pistol, or bring whatever airgun you want (.22-caliber, 25 foot-pound limit.)

Modern and/or ‘old school’ airguns are welcome…let’s see ‘em shoot!

Any sights/scopes/red dots are allowed…there will be classifications based on equipment.

Come dressed for the weather, there will be a propane ’torpedo’ heater to reduce the chill from the open windows.

Three events at the Offhand Office:

__ __ __

10-METER TARGET OFFHAND COMPETITIONS!...

On the right-side of Air Rifle Range are 10-meter offhand target competitions…

Each competition has 20 scored shots - using rifle, or pistol, or both!

The targets are standard 10-meter ISSF airgun rifle, and airgun pistol targets.

Ten minutes for 20 scored shots, unlimited sighters.

(.22-caliber, 25 foot-pound limit.)

__ __ __

AND…A NEW ‘RISK/REWARD’ OFFHAND FIELD TARGET CHALLENGE!...

In the middle of the Air Rifle Range is the NEW ‘Risk/Reward’ offhand Field Target challenge…

There are five Field Target animals, located at 15, 20, 25, 30, and 35 yards.

Each target has an ‘inch-and-a-half’ kill-zone.

Ten minutes for 20 offhand shots at any target at any distance.

[1-point per 15-yard knockdown], [2-points per 20-yard knockdown], [3-points per 25-yard knockdown], [4-points per 30-yard knockdown], [5-points per 35-yard knockdown].

Targets can be shot in any order.

(.22-caliber, 20 foot-pound limit.) Piston rifle class & PCP rifle class.

__ __ __

ALSO…A ‘RISK/REWARD’ OFFHAND SILHOUETTE CHALLENGE!...

On the left-side of the Air Rifle Range is the ‘Risk/Reward’ offhand Silhouette challenge…

There are two Silhouette stands: one at 20 yards and one at 30 yards.

Each stand has twenty ‘one-tenth scale’ targets - five Chickens, five Turkeys, five Pigs, and five Rams.

10 offhand shots at the 20 yard stand + 10 offhand shots at the 30 yard stand = 20 shots.

Five minutes for 10 shots at the 20-yard stand, five minutes for 10 shots at the 30-yard stand.

[4-points per Chicken], [3-points per Turkey], [2-points per Pig], [1-point per Ram].

Multiple shots may be taken at a single target. Targets on each stand can be shot in any order. No shooting jackets, no shooting gloves.

(.22-caliber, 20 foot-pound limit.) Piston rifle class & PCP rifle class.

So far, the highest score is 45 (out of 70 possible)...can you top that???

__ __ __

For all three events, if you don’t like your first results, you can try it again, and again!

Fee for all three events…$10.00…what a deal!

The Offhand Office winter schedule is:

Sunday 2 Nov 2025

Sunday 7 Dec 2025

Sunday 4 Jan 2026

Sunday 1 Feb 2026

Sunday 1 Mar 2026

The opening 2026 DCFSA Field Target match is Easter Sunday 5 April 2026. (Sorry for the Easter calendar conflict - this avoids regional Field Target calendar overlaps.) If desired, Offhand Office will immediately follow the 2026 Field Target matches.

Hope to see YOU at the Offhand Office!

VERY NICE!

Thank you!

Will try, though Winter Driving along the 95 is not my idea of fun, LOL!

Hope to see you soon.

THE RESULTS…

What a fine day for the very first Offhand Office at Delaware County Field & Stream Association! A cool morning turned into a no-jacket-needed midday, lots of sun and NO WIND! (Okay, maybe a 5MPH brief gentle wind…maybe not even that much.) The weather was so nice, instead of avoiding winter shivers at the Offhand Office, we were missing outdoor Field Target! Sorry for the folks we lost from the night-before World Series final game. We’ll see ‘em at the next Offhand Office on Sunday Dec. 7th!

The Offhand Office events were a sweet mix of paper and metal targets. There was also a sweet mix of informal no-score shooting, and more-serious shooting-for-score. Lots of great skill bolstering, and lots of camaraderie bolstering! Everyone shot at their own pace - the event time limits were not strictly enforced. Even the ‘noon-ish’ end time dissolved away as we wanted to keep going…wrapping up about 2PM. A great day at the airgun range!

Along with the ‘under roof’ Offhand Office events, Mike Harris setup an outdoor 50-yard across-the-field prone & kneeling & offhand airgun shoot, using NRA ’50-Yard Smallbore Rifle Targets’. Twenty shots in each position made our old bones feel young again! Impressive keeping each .177-caliber pellet hit within the 6-inch-outside-ring targets at that distance…thanks Mike!

Here’s the scores...(and see you at the next Offhand Office Sunday Dec. 7th!)…

Impressive shooting by Mark K!

Spring-Piston from Prone is definitely a challenge.

Congrats on all the scores.

Good way to obey Newton's 1st Law (keep moving because if you stop, you will tend to not move again) over the winter  🙂

Thanks for the report.

Keep well and shoot straight!
