We’re excited to announce that the 2020 North Carolina Field Target Championship will be held on the premises of the Saddle Mountain Gunsmith in Ennice, NC on October 10, 2020.

Will & Ginger Piatt own a bucolic farm not far from the Blue Ridge Parkway that is an absolutely beautiful place to enjoy the fraternity of a field target match. You’re not going to want to miss this one, so sign up now before the opportunity closes.

Hunter, Open, and WFTF Divisions will be offered in both PCP and Piston classes. There will not be a pistol match. The match will consist of 68 shots.

Sight-in at 8 am, match starts at 9 am.

Attendance is limited to 25 shooters due to the virus. Match fees are $15 cash paid at the event. Bring your own food, hand sanitizer, etc. Masks will not be required during the match.

@miguelsanchez

No. That part of the software isn't working right now.  There were 5 slots open this morning.

There's bugs in the signup software too, so if you try to register it'll tell you you're going on a waitlist. Just finisah filling out the waitlist info & I'll take care of the rest manually.

I will make as good a decision as possible and post it here on this thread by early Thursday morning.

Everything is ready. Course looks great, targets serviced, grass mowed, port a jon ordered, etc. I hope we can make it work. Weather has been exceptionally nice this week and the leaves are getting some color too.

Good Luck everyone at your State Champioship tomorrow. Miguel, You shot awesome at the classic, Great job! Philip, I know you have many better days than you had at the Classic! Your wife almost beat both of us. Pleased to see she did so well. Stay safe!

The rain held off long enough that most everyone only had a lane or 2 to finish up the day.  Will had setup a challenging course of 68 shots with top score being a tie of 63 by 2 Open shooters.

Congrats to all the winners. I believe everyone enjoyed the championship match event.

Special thanks to Will and Ginger for their work in hosting this.

I always wanted to shoot at Wills ever since hearing about the infamous Nationals  in the rain there. Since this year’s season has been almost nonexistent and the NC state match was going to be held there I decided to register for it. With the match approaching and hurricane Delta threatening I was considering canceling. Once Will announced the match was a go I was still on the fence. In comes a text from my good friend Gary who was also registered. Long story short our conversing made me decide to go. Come match day I arrive at Wills place and let me say it was a fantastic setting. The views of and from his property are something you have to see for yourself. The match itself  had everything.  Woods shots, fields shots, down hill, elevated shots. Throw in the wind coming and going and rain showers on and off and we’ll you get the idea. What more could you ask for to test your skills. Wrap it up with a home cooked meal. If you ever have the chance to go to a match at Wills do it. Thank you Will and Ginger for hosting the match. It was something to experience.

Ditto, except I went for the dessert. It was AWESOME. ?  Great venue and great people. It was exceptionally special that Will squadded us together. Ours was an epic battle, back and forth. I only wish I would have gone for the Red Ryder/Pepsi can challenge to break the tie. ?

Thank you Will and Ginger for a great day.

I finally got around to doing a Troyer calculation. Not factoring in wind or lighting it was 35.25T. While most gusts were strong they were brief. I know I missed several for wind shifts or missed reads.

Will, thanks again for putting on a high quality match. Challenging and fun course.

What was the Troyer with wind on the Red Ryder Pepsi Can Challenge. Brian says he missed because of wind? Lol
