Well August is in the books and man what a match.  Had some regulars, some new folks and one we thought we had lost lol.  It was great to see Loren Hansen back out shooting, that's for sure.

We had a great time shooting this UK game.  The mats that were provided by Creedmoor Sports were just the ticket.  And also many thanks to Gabe for keeping the ground properly inoculated 🙂

We had three guys shooting in the Recoiling Class with newcomer Raj Patel owning the day with a 47/60.

Recoiling. .22 and Junior
Raj Patel:  47/60  R9, .Unknown power level 177, JSB Express, Vortex Diamondback, 12x, Parallax 30y, no illumination.
Loren Hansen 34/60,  HW50s, 10.5 fpe, .177, JSB 8.4, Leapers Bug Buster, 6x, 15y parallax, no illumination.
Gabe Sallusti: 32/60.  B-26, 12fpe, .177, Premiers, Unknown scope, 12x, parallax 23y, no illum.

Open (over 12 fpe).  All standing supported.
Bill Ellis: 37/60.  Daystate Bullpup, 20fpe, .177, JSBH, Unknown Scope @ 16x, 30y parallax, no illum.

Open (12fpe)
Paul Oswalt 52/60, HM1000, 12fpe, .177, AA8.4, Sightron 10x42 mildot. 30y parallax, no illum.
Ben Oswalt 41/60, HM1000, 12fpe, .177, AA8.4, Sightron 10x42 mildot. 30y parallax, no illum.
Mike Loar 34/60, XS60C, 12fpe, .177, AA 8.4, Unknown scope @10x, 32y parallax, no illum. Also all standing supported.

It was great to have my son out shooting.  He had a great time.  While reviewing the scores, he commented on how well Raj shot with his spring gun.  Ben says he's going to bring his LGU out next time!!

Okay, I was trying to explain this at the match but did a terrible job at it so here it is again and maybe this will be better>

This is the classification system in place for you to gauge your overall performance and for self improvement.

Open Class
Gold - within 4 points of the top score of the day.
Silver - within 9 points of the top score of the day.
Bronze - within 14 points of the top score of the day.

Recoiling, .22 class and juniors.
Gold - within 9 points of the top score of the day.
Silver - within 14 points of the top score of the day
Bronze - within 20 points of the top score of the day.

So, Raj was the high score in Recoiling, Gold award.
Loren was within 14 points, Silver award.
Gabe was within 20 points, Bronze award.

Bill Ellis was all alone in the over 12fpe class so he is the Gold shooter in that class.

I scored Gold and Ben was Bronze.

These can be awarded after a couple of matches.  If you all want to get some badges or pins for your hats, gear, etc., I'm open to all suggestions and designs.

At the request of two shooters, I have agreed to allow seats/buckets for those that have "limited mobility" and cannot get up and down in the prone comfortably.  No sticks, monopods or bipods.  The shooter must use a nearby tree for support in a safe manner.  The shooter cannot use any part of the chair, bucket, or body for support of either arm.  These shooters will be classed according to their power plant and fpe as normal but will have the designation LM noted on their scores.

Update on the practice area.  The plans are drawn up and the practice area will be taking shape as soon as it cools off.   There will be 3 lanes, at least 3 targets per lane and 3 shooting pads per lane.  Each pad will accommodate two people.  It's going to be a great place to work on your range finding skills,  angle shots, etc.

Other changes are coming too so stay tuned.  Next match will be Saturday, Sept 1.  Shooter's meeting 0800 sharp.

Thanks,

Paul
