We had heat, but not a single drop of rain, a sneaky breeze here and there, but very good conditions, well, for the south LOL!
We had six shooters come out, and it was great to see everyone that came out to play. Friday I was out with two of my grandsons mowing and painting the course for the best part of four hours, and we did clear a lot of the vegetation, however our Club has a guy that comes out around maybe 6.30 am on a match day? I say that as he is there whenever I get there at 7am! Anyway he was down there with his weed wacker and trimmer for almost an hour, then he towels off, and shoots really well! Brad Troyer is a club member we should thank every time we see him, from helping with the vegetation to maintaining the targets, adding a weld or two, to updating the club website, he is such a big help we would be lost without him, so take a moment and thank him next time you see him.
Lots of vegetation means dark targets, but with little breeze some high scores came in - I think Grant may have shot his personal best that day? I thought he had the match in the bag, but then Brad goes and snatches it out of his fingers at the very last moment!
I had moved the match from the week before, as rain was really pouring down, so far for this coming Saturday the weather forecast is currently at 50 percent chance of rain, I will be keeping an eye on that and make a decision to either cancel or postpone Wednesday or Thursday, so keep an eye on your email!!
