I was really glad to be able to make it back to Roz's place to shoot. It's been several years since I was able to make it up due to work conflicts. The course was excellent as usual, and the people were the nicest group of folks you could ever meet. Got to see some of the old regulars and a couple new folks.

And I don't mean to toot my own horn, but I pretty much dominated the piston class. Then again, I guess that's to be expected when you are the only one in the class, LOL! ?

Huge thanks to Roz for having us, and everyone for being just great. I learn a lot each time I go, and I'm looking forward to going back. Anybody local that's on the fence about FT should really try and make it out. It's a lot of fun regardless of skill level or price of equipment.

I REALLY love shootin at Roz's. My favorite place. Major flawless events have been held there with style and Southern hospitality.

10 hour drive for me and worth every mile.

Saturday was a near perfect day for field target in southern Tennessee. Temperatures started in the low 60s and reached the mid 80s by match end but humidity was relatively low. There was enough wind to keep everyone on their toes, but nothing like the 20+mph in the area both of the two days prior to the match.

We are still missing a few regulars but thankfully had some new faces and some we hadn't seen in quite a long time. Roz shared his gun with newcomer Celeste who, in her first FT match, shot an astonishing 30/42 in 7 lanes. Welcome back to Jeff's daughter Kayla who shot very well and to Chase who impressed with a 38 in hunter piston in his first match in a very long time. Bill shot a new personal best to top Cliff by one in Open. Great to have Cliff back from Florida and Jim back after a almost a year's absence. I managed a one point margin over Slade to take home match winner honors.

I will remind everyone that ticks are out in full swing, I brought home a couple of bites and heard numerous mentions of spottings on the course.

Here's the important stuff:

WFTF:

54/60 - Danny Ayers/Thomas/Leopold 35X/JSB 8.4
53/60 - David Slade/Steyr LG110/Nikko 10-50/JSB 8.4

Open PCP:

48/60 - Bill Ellis/Steyr LG110/Sightron 10-50/JSB 10.3
47/60 - Cliff Smith/TM1000/Bushnell 8-32/AA 10.3
40/60 - Jeff Hale/HM1000/Aeon10-40/AA 10.3
39/60 - Jim Baumann/Daystate Huntsman/Sightron 10-50/AA 10.3
37/60 - Kayla Pirtle/HM1000/Aeon10-40/AA 10.3
30/42 - Celeste Nowak/TM1000/Sightron 10-50/AA 8.4
DNF - Roz Sumpter/TM1000/Sightron 10-50/AA 8.4

Hunter Piston:

38/60 - Chase Jones/HW77K/Vortex Diamondback 4-12/Crosman 7.9

Hope to see everyone at Invicta on June 27, weather permitting.
Danny

Danny, great shooting. Looks like you and David had quite a battle.

I wish I would have been able to shoot at Roz' place when I was there, it sounds awesome. But you have a great group of people and I am glad we could let you borrow Cliff, for a while. Or the other way around for us DeSoto Airgunners. LOL

Nice shooting to everyone.

One time Cliff Smith strapped a TX200 to a motorcycle and drove a long way to compete at Roz's. I can't remember for sure but I think his ,then girlfriend and later wife, was a passenger too. This was prolly in the late 90's.

I sure wish I lived closer.

@DonC

Cliff is my mentor. I did exactly as he did last year and strapped my HK97K to my Harley to compete one time. Combining two hobbies/loves. I wish I lived closer also.....
