Roz wants everyone to know the weather forecast looks great and his final match of the 2020 season is on for this Saturday, range open at 8, match at 9, hope to see you there !
Wish I was still in the area to join you! You all have a great course and are a fantastic group of shooters. See you all in the Spring!
Well, despite the craziness that was 2020, the FT season at the Good Ole Boys club wrapped up on a high note Saturday with clear blue skies, calm winds, and mid 50's at match start giving way to some overcast, switching winds, and mid 60's by the time we were done. Couldn't ask for better in early November.
Just the regulars this time as COVID continues to keep the numbers down. Everyone is missing the FireMarshall, if you're listening Pat, get well and come see us soon! As is the new normal, we honored COVID precautions and shot in groups of one so the match moved along very quickly.
The winds were quite tricky this time, costing more than a few long shots. That's the fun part, some say, but it's hard to agree when wind pushes your first shot to the opposite edge and your second hits just outside the kill directly on your POI, LOL. That's all in the game and what keeps us coming back I guess.
Here's the numbers:
Match Winner(s), WFTF:
51/60 - Danny Ayers/Thomas Carbine/Leupold 35X/JSB 8.4
51/60 - David Slade/AirArms FTP900/Hawke 10-50ED/JSB 8.4
Open PCP:
49/60 - Bill Ellis/Steyr LG110/ Sightron 10-50x60/JSB 10.3
45/60 - Jeff Hale/RAW HM1000/Aeon 10-40/AA 10.3
43/60 - Roz Sumpter/RAW TM1000/BSA 10-50/AA 8.4
36/60 - Jim Baumann/Marauder/Konus 12-50/AA 10.3
Many thanks to Roz for hosting us at the GOB again and for persevering with matches through this difficult season. This was the last scheduled match of the year but with some weather luck we'll have a few more unscheduled before the spring. Keep an eye out here for announcements.
All the best,
Danny
