Roz decided to slip 1 more match in prior to the Nats. We only had 6 shooters on an absolutely perfect day. Temperature was right in the high 80's, the humidity was low enough to actually not be a problem and the wind was just enough to be comfortable and not affect the shooting. That all changed on the way back to Nashville with high winds and heavy rain. Top scorer overall and in the WFTF class was Harold Rushton with a score of 56/60 on a fairly tough course. Harold was shooting a new Thomas Carbine air rifle.
We had a stranger back in the Hunter class. Our friend, Larry Cleveland was able to finally come back to Tennessee after surgery a few months ago. Larry was the only shooter in the Hunter class and had a score of 41/60 using a HM1000.
We had 4 shooters in the Open class. I got to shoot with Roz Sumpter for the first time in a while and thoroughly enjoyed it. Roz was high scorer in the Open class and had a score of 49/60 using a TM1000. I finally got a decent score for 2nd place after several months of sub-par shooting finishing with a score of 44/60 with another TM1000. Cliff Smith was 3rd with a score of 41/60 using his TM1000. Alex Replogle finished 4th with a score of 39/60 using a Marauder. Ray Barnett came over but did not shoot due to an abscessed tooth. Hope he can get that taken care of before the Nationals. Hurts to think about it.
