GOOD OLD BOYS JULY MATCH 2022
Saturday mornings weather was touch and go to begin with, pouring rain, thunder and lightning around 6 am, but Roz was watching the radar and was positive it would pass us by before the match would start, and he was right.
Six shooters came out to compete, other club members were away vacationing, some taking care of to do lists, and some dealing with covid symptoms, we wish you a speedy recovery and hope to see you on the lanes very soon.
I shot with Cliff Smith this match, haven’t done that for a while, we spent more time reminiscing than shooting I think! He has been shooting FT for over thirty years, yours truly for almost forty, so there was a lot of memories to reflect on! The weather was cooler thanks to the rain, and while the humidity slowly crept up, the weather was very good, a hint of a breeze, and with the sun streaming through the pine trees, made for a truly memorable experience, one I will cherish.
I don’t know if talking about old times kept us from sweating the small points of shooting, but we both turned in the top two scores of the match! Cliff is headed back to Florida for a few weeks to take care of some chores, but will return, so make a point of getting squadded with him, he is threatening to retire after the next season, so make some time to spend with one of the old timers of FT before then!
Stan drove once again all the way from Little Rock AR, and had equipment issues, lets hope everything thing works for him next time.
The Invicta match originally scheduled for July 23rd, well, I am moving the date to the following Saturday, July 30th, its my wife’s birthday on the original date, so I am moving it for all the right reasons!
