How many of us miss the old yellow forum? Anyone have any FT class changes on the "drawing Board" for next year. As of the moment I am thinking about a change to either Open or HFT piston. Even though I am at heart a HFT PCP man I think sometimes a change is good for us. The HFT piston would probably be the easiest change just because I won't have to give up my bucket. At 72 I find it very hard to get up and down from the bum bag position and will be starting a workout regimen to see if I can improve on that ability. Never shot a springer in FT competition that I can remember but I have always seemed to shoot pretty decent at home and at Benchrest matches. However, Spring won't come quick enough for me seeing we got a good months early start on winter up here in the far Northeast. Praying for a early Spring.
Hey Bill, I think the interest in piston is on the rise again as in the last month I know of at least 3 serious PCP regulars that have bought springers for next year. Don't think any of them are going full time spring piston, but they want to give it a try. I also bought 2 myself. One for HTF piston and one for WFTF Piston. After having shot with Jay Hannon at one of my shoots and seeing him match the high score of the PCP classes with his HW 97, my interest in spring piston piqued.
Me too Bill!
Thinking hard about switching over to WFTF piston. Got a great D54 from Hector, and a 12 ft lb TX200... both sweet shooters.
Part of that decision is I can carry the springers to a spot near by and shoot all day (safely), thus getting more practice than I could with the Thomas.

Bill, yes I miss the old yeller too.
My vote is for you to move to HFT Piston. I was squadded with you for two days at the Nationals this year and I don’t want to compete against you in Open PCP. You sure can shoot buddy.
Best,
Gary
ps take Will and Brian with you .... LOL
pss Come down to Florida in January. DeSoto Airgunners is just starting up.
Gary, I am giving wftf a try. I can shoot ok in that class but it is just not comfortable yet, so it is not as much fun. I am having to adjust my body to a position it is a strain to get into. I have a conditioning program and it is getting easier, but it sure is testing my patience.
Will
I am glad to see you guys going to give piston a try. Yes, it is a bit more challenging, but it is also a load of fun.
I have my fair share of PCP guns, but I do really like my springers. A lot less equipment to haul around also.
Bill, if the cold and the snow are really bothering you, you can always take a break in the action and spend a little time in AZ with us. Third Saturday of each month is our shoot and you are more than welcome.

Doug, I agree I think it is on a upswing. Plenty of room in all piston classes to grow, and I applaud the piston shooters that are willing to switch springer classes to help out this class such as happened at the last several nationals.
How do you make the post you are replying to appear in your reply? Do you copy it? I know how to copy but it don't appear like yours does.
Thanks, Bill
Hi Bill,
you use the quote at the bottom right corner as far as the upcoming season i'm going to shoot WFTF PCP or try to at any rate.

Will, you have been a good friend and mentor to share your experience and advice with me the last two years. I’ll miss competing against you but maybe one day I’ll make the same decision. I just can’t put the time and effort into a change at this time. Also, I don’t know if my body can learn a new discipline at this advanced age. LOL
I know you will do well.
Brian, the same applies to you. A good friend and I have really enjoyed shooting with and “hanging” with you and your crew during the matches. Best of luck whatever you chose.
With Will and Brian making a move, I can say only one thing.
May all those WFTF shooters beware.

Dan, you know it is going to be hard to give that Thomas a break ?
yea, but I wont miss humping it around ? Really the only thing I odnt like about it.....
Dan, Give it a pressure gauge and I'd like it a lot better. Not that I don't like it because I do but would feel a lot more secure with knowing how much air I have left in it at all times. I have been caught missing 50+ Yard targets low because of low air pressure. You would think I could count my shots and I do, but if I forget to refill it before I start the match I will usually be at the bottom of the regular before the match is over. I'm sure at 12 ft/lbs that probably would not be a problem.
