DIFTA is pleased to announce our second match of the covid season on Sunday October 4. Strings setup at 8:30, registration and sight in range opens 9:00 am; shooters meeting 9:50; Match starts 10:00 sharp.

PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED, on a 1st come basis. Send an email to mayer.mlmet@gmail.com to reserve a slot.

Due to covid and host club restrictions we are limited to 12 shooters, so if you decide not to shoot after reserving a slot, please let me know ASAP, to give others a chance to shoot.

During the match there will be 1 shooter per lane, and you will be responsible for keeping your own score. Hand sanitizer will be available. Masks must be worn when walking between lanes during the match, and at all times at the sight in range before the match starts.

At the sight in range because we have only six positions, shooters will have to coordinate so that only 1 person is on a lane at any time. Don't expect to have a lane to your self for the whole sighting period; be generous, and let other shooters get setup as well.

Course designed by Paolo for your pleasure is 72 shots, 12 lanes, average 28.8 Troyer, seven targets > 40 Troyer; nine targets > 40 yards; one off-hand lane; and a couple of 3/8" targets.

DIFTA held their second match of 2020 in beautiful fall weather, temps rising from mid 40s to low 60s during the match, with partial overcast, and almost no wind. The tree canopy is still full, and a few targets were hard to see in the shadows, but excuses aside it was perfect shooting weather. The course, designed by Paolo proved challenging and nobody cleared all the lanes. In the new covid-19 world face masks were worn on the sight in range; we had no squads, with only 1 shooter per lane; timers were not used ,and there was no post match BBQ.

Seven shooters competed in a 72 shot match, with 12 lanes, each with three targets shot twice, and one off hand lane, average 28.8 Troyer, six targets > 40 T; nine targets > 40 yards, and three 3/8” targets.

Mark Mayer took the match high score of 63 in Open Division. Frank Moscarillo, lead the Hunter PCP Division, with a score of 61, followed by Frank Moscarillo and Tom Strong. There was plenty of friendly rivalry between this father son duo. In Hunter Piston Division Scott Broom took the high score. Mark Bolster put on an excellent first performance for a novice shooter. Hector Medina was our sole shooter in WFTF Piston.

Mark Mayer acted as match director.

Our next match is scheduled for Sunday November 1st.

@mlmayer

THANKS Mark! It was a great shoot!

For the first time in my life I shot 5/6 targets in the standing lane from the sitting position and had to call them misses, ROFL!

Anyway, vagaries of shooting by one's lone self.

😉

Thanks again!

Hector - you are proof the honesty scoring system works!

5/6 standing is 'outstanding'; next time you can aim to repeat this, but in a more challenging position !!!
