The next match at DIFTA will be held on Sunday May 2nd. I12 Lanes, 2 forced positions, one Offhand and one Kneeling, 36 six targets shot twice, 29.35 Troyer. Nine targets > 40 yards.
PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED, on a 1st come basis. Send an email to mayer.mlmet@gmail.com to reserve a slot.
Strings setup at 8:30, registration and sight in range opens 9:00 am; shooters meeting 9:50; Match starts 10:00 sharp.
Due to covid and host club restrictions we are limited to 12 shooters, so if you decide not to shoot after reserving a slot, please let me know ASAP, to give others a chance.
During the match there will be 1 shooter per lane, and you will be responsible for keeping your own score. Masks must be worn when walking between lanes during the match, and at all times at the sight in range before the match starts.
At the sight in range because we have only six positions, shooters will have to coordinate so that only 1 person is on a lane at any time. Don't expect to have a lane to your self for the whole sight in period; be generous, and let other shooters get setup as well.
Sunday, May 2, 2021 Match Report
For our second match of the 2021 season we had 7 shooters. Weather was just a bit on the warm side, with partial clouds, and enough wind to require hold off for some the longer shots.
We had a 72-shot match, with one offhand and one kneeling lane. The average difficulty of the course, was 29.35T with 6 targets > 40 T, only three of those pesky 3/8” targets, and 9 targets > 40 yards. Of interest, although the course difficulty was essentially identical to our prior match, Brian, Mark M and Frank all shot lower scores, and only Hector improved!
The highest score of the day (68) was shot by Paul Cray ‘The FT Guy’ in WFTF PCP. Brian Van Liew in PCP open scored 64, followed by Mark Mayer. Frank Moscarillo (54) took the high score in Hunter PCP division. Scott Broom led Hunter Piston followed by Mark Bolster. Hector Medina was the only WFTF piston shooter of the day.
Thanks to everyone for a great match, and especially to Paul and Brian for travelling long distances to shoot with us.
Our next match is Saturday May 29, and with many of us starting to get Covid-19 vaccinations we hope to have an even bigger turnout.
