DIFTA Match Report Saturday November 8th 2025

Our final match of the season started out in the low 50s climbing to low 60s. Visibility was generally good with the tree canopy thinning out and some sun. Winds were light but variable during the day’ many targets showed hits on one side of the faceplate when not enough hold off was used.

The average course difficulty was 29.47 with three pesky 3/8” and two ½” kill zones that DIFTA is famous for, with ten targets at > 40 yards.

The match high score of 57 was taken by Brian Van Liew in Open Division, Mark King led WFTF with 49, and Greg White Hunter with 46.

Two novice shooters participated in their first ever Field Target match, using the DIFTA Diana Stormrider loaner rifles. Under the guidance of Hector Medina, Mark Coggeshall shot a remarkable 26.

Thanks to Scott Brook for help with setting up the match, to Greg White who arrived early and help run strings, and everyone stayed behind to take down the course, and as always, many thanks to those who travel long distances to compete and keep our sport alive. Mark Mayer acted as match Director.

Decimal scores are added to the match score and used as tiebreakers if needed; they are calculated as additional 10ths for hits on Standing lanes and 100ths for hits on Kneeling lanes; clearing both forced position lanes would give a decimal score of .66.

It was a fun match.

Worthwhile saying that the "loaners" are finally finding some use, LOL!

Thanks for having the Match!
