Our next match at DIFTA is Sunday, October 3.

The match is contingent to at least four shooters being committed to shoot. Unless we reach the quorum by Wednesday, September 29, we will post a cancellation notice.

The course is 12 3-target lanes, with 1/4 of the targets beyond 40 yd, with 7 targets having difficulty > 40T. The average course difficulty is 29.8T. There are two forced-position lanes (one standing, one kneeling). We shoot 2 shots per target for a total of 72 shots.

String setup at 8:30, registration and sight-in range open at 9:00. Mandatory shooters meeting at 9:50, Match starts at 10:00 sharp.

Fees are $10 for IWLA-WAC members and $15 for non-members (exact change is highly appreciated).

DIFTA Match Report Sunday, October 3, 2021

We had a 72-shot match, with one offhand and one kneeling lane. The average difficulty of the course  was 29.81 T. The weather was perfect, starting off in the low 60’s and ending in the high 70s, with very little wind.

Making their debut were four new targets, from Paul’s Custom Targets, which behaved perfectly. Especially interesting was a grasshopper with a 0.5” kill zone, and a faceplate small enough to risk complete misses.

Brian Van Liew continued his well-established trend of taking the match high score in Open PCP. Keith K took top score in WFTF, followed by Hector Medina and Richard Bassett with a tie.  Frank Moscarillo continues his streak at the top of the Hunter Division, closely followed by Scott Broom. Bob Miller, a novice FT shooter, who started out in Hunter Division but switched to Open Division halfway through the match, scored an impressive 29, closely followed by Patrick Darrell, another new shooter. Sadly, Wayne Darrell’s scope broke during the match and he had to drop out.

Had a great time.  A well run match perfect for new shooters and a great chance to brush shoulders with world class shooters that are willing to help you out.  Lucky to have a club close by.

Thanks Mark, for a great course and a fun day.

Bob
