DIFTA FT match Sunday October 13
The next DIFTA match will be on Sunday October 13.
As usual, we gather around 8-8:30 to finish setting up the course and, once all the strings are in place, we open the range for practice. Registration will start around 9:00 and will end at 9:45 when we will have the mandatory shooters' meeting. This will be a 60-shot match with average difficulty 28-30T, with a few offhand shots and either some rapid fire or another forced position. Weather and interest permitting, after the match we will fire our grill and have out potluck BBQ.
On Sunday morning, six shooters enjoyed a perfect fall day for some fun at the range. Temps started in the mid 40s but climbed to low 60s by match end, with almost no wind, mostly overcast skies, occasional bursts of sun, and still a lot of tree canopy providing shade.
The 60 shot match included one off hand lane and one kneeling lane that were cleared by a couple of shooters, but with some sneaky small targets combined with eight targets set out from 40 to 55 yards nobody cleared the course. Scott Broom won Hunter Division, Paolo pipped Hector by one shot for WFTF high score and Mark took match high score in Open Division.
