Our last FT match of the year is on Saturday December 8th.

As usual, we will gather around 8-8:30 to finish setting up. Once all the strings are in place, the range will be open for practice and sight in. Registration will start around 9:00 and will end at 9:45 when we will have the mandatory shooters' meeting.

Paolo will use his magic recipe to design a course to keep everyone on their toes, around 28T, 60 shots total, 6 offhand shots, and another lane either kneeling or a fast lane. There will be 3-4 targets >= 40T as well as a few < 20T to boost your spirits.

Weather forecast looks good but chilly, so dress warm and bring gloves and hats. If you want a sausage of two at the post match BBQ let us know.

We had a great turnout on 12/8/18 for our last match of the year. The biggest challenge was cold. The temp was 22 °F when we started running strings and barely climbed above freezing during the match. With all the leaves gone DIFTA took on a different feel, with wide open views down several of the lanes. Unfortunately, due to the lack of foliage there was nothing to stop the wind blowing across the course, and although the breeze was gentle, it was enough to cause problems for some of the longer distance targets, with ‘Long Tom’ up to his usual tricks, defeating even some of our top shooters. The match was 60 shots, with two fast lanes and two off hand lanes; nine of the targets were at distances of 40-55 yards; Troyer values ranged from 13-43 with an average of 28.2; unusually, there was only one 3/8” target, but four ½” targets in the close positions seemed just as small.

With six shooters WFTF was very well represented, with Mike Harris posting the match high score of 55, with the rest of the WFTF Division outshooting most of the Hunter and Open groups. Rex Gori took the top score of 49 in the Open division and Frank Moscarillo lead the Hunter Division with a score of 43. Paolo acted as match director and grill master for our traditional post match BBQ. We will be back in March for our 1st spring match on 3/10/19. Full schedule will follow shortly.
