Seven shooters turned out for the second match of the season. This was a 72-shot match with an average difficulty of 29.14 T, with six targets > 40T, seven targets with 0.375”or 0.5” kill zones, and eleven targets at > 40 yards. The match started out in the mid 50s and by the end had climbed to low 60s: very pleasant shooting weather. That was offset by variable winds throughout the match, with perfect calm periods, interspersed with gusts above 10 mph. The tree canopy has yet to grow and target visibility was generally good.

The match high score of 58/72 was shot by Greg White in Hunter Division, followed by Tae Chung. Mark King led WFTF. Mark Mayer led Open, followed by Al Otter who has to skip the forced position lanes, so adjusting for this his score is 54, not bad! Overall the scores were closely grouped in all Divisions reflecting the challenging wind conditions and the high skill of our shooters.

As always many thanks to those who travel long distances to compete and keep our sport alive

@mlmayer

Great shoot, Mark, thanks to you and Paolo!

About the difficulty: 29.14X1.25 (wind factor) = 36.43 and I don't think anyone can dispute the application of the factor because the weather station called for winds between 3 and 15 mph

On some targets, that went down, I held 2.2 mRads (7.5 MOA's) off, which would correspond to winds in the 10 mph region.
And not only that, it was changing between 0.4 mrads to the max listed above. So, yes it was a challenging shoot.

For those that missed it I want to add that, while it started as a somewhat grey and dreary day, it cleared up fast and turned into a beautiful day in the woods.
