Would you be so kind as to send me an email, please?
Would like to know how you got PPCalc to run in a Kindle Fire tablet.

TIA!
Not Jeff, obviously, but my first thought is that he installed cyanogen ROM on it, so it became a mostly regular-Android device. https://www.wikihow.com/Install-Android-on-Kindle-Fire
Seems like something Jeff would do 🙂
Inasmuch as you are sufficiently Android-savvy to have developed PP-Calc in the first place, maybe this is an obvious and dumb answer. If so, kindly ignore.
I will await Jeff's answer along with you.
Actually, Leo Duran figured it out. He used this website to install Google Play on his Fire HD tablet, and then he could access PPCalc and any other Android app.
How to Install the Google Play Store on the Amazon Fire Tablet or Fire ...
Hector,
Are you still looking for someone to help update the app? I have some contacts at the University of Texas at Arlington here locally, but I was thinking that it might be easier for you to check out one of the local universities near you by placing an ad on their computer science forum or bulletin board at the campus. Let me know.
Jeff
Thanks, guys!
I am not the programmer of PP-Calc. I gave the framework and specifications and a programmer did all the hard work. So, no, sorry, I am not Android-Savvy.
I have located a person that is also a shooter and member of this forum that has agreed to help me maintain the App for the future, but he is real busy.
Anyway, thanks again to y'all for helping here!
Ahhh. You are such the peripatetic engineer, I figured you had picked up that skill as well.
From what I have learned/picked up, installing the Google Play store gets you 95% of the way "there," but there are a few apps here and there that expose deeper differences between the Fire OS and Android.
Thanks!
But you have too much faith in me 😉
Anyway, I am glad the issue got solved for Leo. Let's hope he enjoys the results of real world ballistics.
Again, thanks!
HM
