Please don’t  take offense but I think $20.00 for a one day match is a little steep especially when the trip is 250 miles.  Wasn’t that many years ago the cost was $5 bucks per match.  I hope this cost is not contagious.  Regards, Bill

I just paid $200 for a 3 day match. When you consider the amount of work that goes into setting these, scoring, providing equipment etc it's actually a pretty good value for a day of shooting, IMHO.

Bill, I agree it is more expensive that it used to be, but believe me we don't see a penny from these fees. Club is non profit and everything we collect goes out to pay for land use and club insurance. Also, it might be cheaper for you to become a member and pay only $10 per match if you plan to come to more than 4 our matches. For a member it is annual membership fee plus $10 a match.

Leo, I certainly believe you are not making any money just from my own experience as a match director. Most other clubs will most likely agree. Your shooter attendance will eventually help assist you in Higher admissions decisions.  I think growing the sport may have peaked in most regions years back. I'll try to get down to shoot with you guys when it warms up. A bad fall in January and a bad cold for the last month has me shooting indoors exclusively.  Looking forward to warmer weather.

Vasyl,

The match fees are not correct. My mistake for giving you the wrong template. Please change the match fees to $15 for non-members, $5 for members. The fees you posted are for the end of the year state match.

Leo,

Just an FYI your clubs website has the non-members fee at $10 not the $15 that's posted here for this match.

The course is setup and ready to go for tomorrow morning. The 1” of snow is melting rapidly. High 50s and less wind is forecasted for tomorrow.

It was cold windy cold windy Connecticut morning, day after last of the year snowfall. Weather man forecasted pretty nice sunny day with upper 40’s degree Fahrenheit, but that would come later during the day. This was first match of the season and we had nice turn out of 7 shooters and one new member observer show up to the match.

Thanks to hard work of Ron Dumond, course was set up and ready for us. It was wide open field with plenty of wind, which was especially felt during practice, making fingers numb after only a few shots. Few shooters sought refuge from cold wind between arm pits and other warm places to restore feelings for better accuracy.

Despite decent winds Brian managed to score 54/64 for match high in WFTF class and without wearing a harness

About half way thru the match it warmed up a little and sun came out, wind started to calm down and switch directions. Everyone had a lot of fun and helped out at the end.

Next match is Saturday April 20th, so hopefully will see everyone again.
