As always, a few Club notes and news…
Jan-March will be a 48 shot match for both rifle and pistol. I will be closing 2 lanes at a time to conduct some long anticipated maintenance and new shot placements. After attempting a few times this past year, I decided to limit the next few months to 48 shots
while I moderately overhaul two lanes at a time. While the math makes that 5 months, it wont take that long, I anticipate by April at the latest all will be done. In the end the plan is to at least double our target locations, extend some lanes to 55 yds, install tree stands and have the newest wood carved lane markers and directional signs installed.
In addition, the more ‘seasoned’ targets are also slated to be repaired and/or replaced.
One match this coming spring may be using all the S&S Custom Targets from TFT, of course tuned down for AAFTA ( cuz they can do that!). Just a heads up if y’all are getting used to the yellow we are growing to love! This would be because paint stripping and prepping is easiest done in continuum, not aggregately.
Tenacious Airguns, one of our kindest sponsors, has graciously donated the famed Cricket 2 Tactical to the club for shooters to experience how an Eastern Bloc bullpup can perform in FT. I’ve been truly blessed to have been shooting with it recently and can say it will not be easy to part with even for a single shot! Anyone interested in shooting with it is welcomed to do so! N50 Benchrest - Weather Permitting during winter. Practice may be shot instead.
Weather outlook looks unfavorable for afternoon benchrest attendance, 11 mph sustained winds in the low 50’s. While January will not be for record, Practice targets may be shot however for any who wish. Cost will be $10 per shooter. Similar targets will be provided. Range will close
for n50 practice at 5:30.
