Hello Ken, Hello Walt. The usual suspects are asking for details:
Sight in time, Shooters' meeting time, Match start time. Also, if we are in the neighborhood Friday afternoon, are visitors welcome.
Thanks. Cliff
Hey Cliff and usual suspects ( as if I don’t know who “they” are )...
The range will be open at 8, shooters meeting just before we start the match which we plan on around 9. Visitors are always welcome at “Uncle Walts “ house.
Bring bug spray, we will have water available and lunch will be provided after the match.
A A 2019 September match at Walts place
The turn out for this match was awesome with 20 friends gathering at Walts place to shoot a practice match before we all head down to Baton Rouge next month for the nationals match. Our shooting buddies from Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee asked to shoot at Walts so we set it all up and they came in numbers to test themselves against Walts tough course. Walts course is technical, mostly flat but a few elevated shots high in trees with a Troyer factor around 37. We had a fun day shooting the course with tricky winds , dark lanes and tough shots making us work for every point.
The temps cooled off to only mid 80s with cloud cover for a good part of the day so we got a lucky break from the high 90s of the last few weeks, thank you to the creator for blessing us.
Some outstanding performances of the day were provided by Ron Brown and Danny Ayers in the WFTF PCP class both scoring 62/66 and Steve English in the WFTF Piston class also scoring 62/66! Ron and Danny both decided not to have a shoot off so they could get to lunch sooner.
Speaking of lunch, Paula Brown and Deborah Hughes spent the morning cooking good food, and Rob Seiden brought us a big pot of his tasty chili to enjoy so we sat down after the match to swap stories of the course and catch up with old friends. Thanks to the ladies and Rob for all the hard work and great food.
A big thank you to our favorite curmudgeon “Uncle” Walt Roller for all his hard work in setting up this amazing course and allowing us to come enjoy shooting it.

Wow, looks I missed a good one. Lots of old friends, for sure.
A new to me venue that sounds like I need to put the next one in my calendar. Good shooting guys. See you all at the National's.
Looks like Alex bested the old man. Ray must have forgotten his "lucky" shoes. LOL

Yeah you missed this one but we can do more... next time you’re coming up we can see about shooting at Walt’s place. You would enjoy it, tough course but enjoyable.
We were so blessed that the weather was cooler/ overcast from it raining the night before, the first we’ve had in many weeks. Made the event much more pleasant.
Hope you are enjoying your trip up north, safe travels. See you in a few weeks

Ken, I will be back in Augusta after the NOA Burning River 120 this weekend. I'll head to Baton Rouge around Oct 1st. If you guys are shooting (Walt's or Covington) Sat/Sun Sept 28/29 let me know and I'll make the trek again. Good warm up for the National's, yes? LOL
See you guys in a few weeks.

We will see if we can work that out? Maybe a match at Walts ? But Walts is an hour plus past Covington from Augusta so that’s a bit of a drive but worth it and great practice for nationals.
Look forward to tales from the BR120 match. I know it’s going to be a great one. Those guys know how to put on a fun match.
