I’ve seen this match announced on the AAFTA board, but I heard it’s NOT a GP match.

That is correct. It is not a Grand Prix this year.
It is posted on the AAFTA website as the Arizona State Championship. Still a two day match, but following the type of matches we had prior to the formation of the Grand Prix matches.
It's about beer & wings with a little shooting on the side...Just kidding !!! Looking forward to getting back out to AZ next month!!

Well I want to wish everyone attending this years AZ State championship the best of luck & I hope(know) that you'll have a great time. Unfortunately Hurricane Flo has other ideas for me. Not knowing how bad it's going to get at my house in north eastern NC, I just didn't feel comfortable leaving my family. So today I cancelled my plane, hotel, & rental car reservations. Yes it sucked !!! I'm already looking forward to next years championship because I plan on being there!!! Mark, Pat, Garrett, & whoever else that is coming to the Nationals, I'll see you in 3 weeks !!!!
We're going to miss you, Chris. I do hope all is well and that you and your family are safe and out of harm's way.
I hope you get the swamp drained between now and nationals. It would be a first having to move from lane to lane in a flat bottomed boat.
