Saturday September 23rd is the date of our final 60 shot FT match. Our course will be as usual ....challenging but still in the 34 Troyer range. We will have 3 kneeling shots and 3 standing shots in our forced position requirements. Practice range will open at 8am and Safety meeting will begin at 9am. Match will start at approximately 9:15. Lunch will follow after the match ends. We will have a new 100 yard lane that will allow interested long range shooters the opportunity to shoot 5 scoring shots at an official 100 yard target for a possible 50 point score. The fee of the FT match is $10 with lunch. The fee for trying the 100 yard target will be $1.00 per shot for a total of $5.00. You must use the same gun and scope that you used for the FT match or bring a FT worthy under 20 ft/lb setup that you can use If you are shooting the WFTF class or Piston class. All fees for this event will be a winner take all of the entry fees. The high score of the event will be chronographed at the game end for 20 ft/lb compliance. The additional 2% for chronograph variance will apply. Only 16x scopes and vertical clicking will be allowed if your scope does not have a mildot you can use. We will shoot 2 shooters at a time in this 100 yard event. Your shooting position will be the same as the FT class you just finished. A time limit of 5 minutes for 5 shots will apply.
Hope to see as many of you that can make it ..... weather permitting. All AFFTA classes plus the unlimited class and break barrels will qualify for awards. Any shooters that make 80% of their FT match shots will shoot free the next match in the 2024 FT season. Leo Gonzales with shoot the FT match free on Saturday the 23rd of September.
I'm looking forward to the match Bill.
I hope the weather will be on our side.
Weather man says no rain Saturday until possibly around 5PM. High will only be about 60 degrees but it will make great shooting weather. Drive safely, Bill
Thanks again Bill for hosting. Great course with fantastic company. Will make all the shoots next year.
Thanks for hosting Bill, cant wait for next years matches, hopefully you will have some smaller kill zones 🤣
For our Final Match of the season we welcomed 10 shooter's to our range and appreciate very much the efforts they made to get here. We offer a competitive 60 shot match and most of the attendees met the challenge. It was great weather to shoot starting out about 50 degrees and ending up in the low 60's. No rain and only an occasional breeze. We started the match about 9:15 after our safety meeting. Most of us completed our 60 targets in about 2 1/2 hours. My wife had lunch ready to go with a Pot of hamburger soup over Natchos with Pepperoni and Cheese Pizza.
Our Hunter turnout was 70% of our match total which it is in many other venues. I would like to see more Hunter candidates on the Bog next year. It is time to make a bigger presence there.
At our first shoot in 2024 Leo G, Chas C, and Bob J shoot our FT match free. It looks to me that my matches are not hard enough 😏
Please find our Match Layout and competitor match up in the attached.
@eirgunner Gerard, Becareful what you wish for. If I dig my reserves hard enough I know we use to have at least 1/4 inch KZ or maybe that was the old Haverhill Mass Ft club that had that 1/4 inch. It was a heck of a challenge to bring that one down.
I wonder what ever happened to that Haverhill FT Target inventory since they dropped FT what seems like 8 to 10 years ago. Time flies at my age. Woburn, Ma took over FT in Mass after Haverhill dropped out. Shot a lot of FT down there.
