I had 7-months to research and prepare, but I had no clue.  I now have a 48" fully customizable rifle; butt hook, 6" wheel, hamster etc etc.  I need a case that I can store, as well as carry from lane to lane while at a match, would these be separate entities?  Or could I kill two birds with one stone?

The butt hook does not allow vertical storage in the gun cabinet, and coupled with the large side wheel, it slightly complicates what I will use to transport the rifle to and from a match, as well as use for carrying between lanes.  Could I get some feedback on how best to tackle these issues?

For starters (phase 1), I have a $100 Amazon gift card to work with...

I'm leaning here, but the purchase has more storage than I need for an air rifle:

You should look into NC Star. They make a variety of bags with different options. The one I own folds out into prone mat, which gives it a good deal of padding when used as a rifle bag. My FWB 800 fits in it with the butthook installed. Also and FTP900 fit in it as well with the butthook on.

I needed a soft carry case for going to Puerto Rico in Feb to shoot their FT Grand Prix, I wanted something light to carry in my checked luggage. I just wanted a cheap case to use there as I use an aluminum rifle carrier here in the states.

Well I found one on Ebay that fit the bill. I was super surprised when it arrived. It is very good quality for the $35... Is is not ballistic nylon, but very close. Also plenty of pockets.

As with all commercial made soft cases it is 11.5" to 12"tall, so the 6" side wheel on my Thomas sticks up a little with the riser on the gun. No biggie for carrying. The case is 47" but has a fold out piece in the nose that will accommodate a least a 55" rifle!

So for the price and quality, I won't need to order one of the Italian custom cases that fits the wheel that I started to order from overseas. This soft case is all over Ebay  in diff sizes. it also has back straps for long treks at some venues...

Thanks guys, I appreciate the recommendations.  Right now I am suffering from analzsis paralysis...  Everything I have looked at on Amazon has the usual buzz words that the companies think I want to hear like; Tactical, Bug Out, Homeland Security, Elite etc etc etc.  That means they come with all kinds of storage and molly yadda yadda yadda that I probably do not need...  Funny enough, the Benjamin rifle case may be just what I need for my Marauder (whodathunk):

I put one in my shopping cart butd I am going to continue to shop...

Many shooters use that bag. The shoulder strap is key for longer courses as well.

I ended up ordering the Benjamin soft case.  To complete the rest of the Amazon card I was gifted I picked up a Wilkens pellet pouch and a Gamo Squirrel practice target.
