All,
I wanted to let you know that we have rescheduled the 2025 Republic of Texas FT Grand Prix to happen in Mansfield, TX on April 25-27. Since I've heard there isn't going to be a Cajun Classic this year, we moved our canceled November 2024 match to this new date in April. We will have Pistol and Rifle matches, catered lunches, raffles and auction items. Since we are hosting the Nats in 2026, you can come shoot the ROT match and have a taste of what is coming in 2026.
I will have more details and a Google Form registration in about a week.
Regards,
Jeff Cloud
ASC Match Director
Evening all,
Registration is open and already going well. The event will be April 25-27 2025 at the Arlington Sportsmans Club in Mansfield Texas. Pistol match will be Friday afternoon, and Rifle matches will be Saturday and Sunday mornings. You can find out all the details at the Information Link and also in the PDF attachment.
I expect we will have approximately 45 shooters attend this GP. We will have two 15-lane courses for competition. The format will be two targets per lane with two shots per target for a total 60-shots. The pistol match will be 60-shots and the rifle match will be 120-shots.
So far AirForce Airguns, Pyramyd Air, Utah Airguns, and Predator Int'l (JSB) have signed on as generous sponsors of the raffle/auction.
Looking forward to seeing everyone again.

I'll be there!
Afternoon everyone,
The ROT is gathering momentum. We have confirmed sponsorship from Pyramyd AIR, Utah Airguns, AirForce Airguns, Predator International (JSB), and H&N. We're choosing between two of these for lunches: Jasons Deli, TexMex Fajitas, or Texas BBQ. Here is a link to the Information Form (that contains the Registration Link inside of it).
Here are the registration numbers so far:
There are a lot of names not yet on this list, especially regular competitors from Oklahoma, Texas, and Louisiana. Don't hesitate. Sign up now.
If we get about 15 more entries, we'll run both courses on both days.
any update on the attendance
Yes on AGN. We are up to 44 entries in rifle and 19 in pistol. I’ll try to update this page this weekend with new info.
What’s stopping you from registering tom2009? Come on down for some great FT in Texas.
Evening everyone! It’s just about one month left before ROT and entry fee just went up to $105. We have 45 entries so far with shooters from as far as NC and Cali. Both courses are starting to look good and green, and we have some small surprises waiting for you that are different than the last ROT. As a reminder, this will be 3 days of shooting with Pistol Friday and Rifle Saturday and Sunday. Expect a tough course but it won’t be 36T because I think that just take all the fun out of it! Don’t wait, sign up today! Here is a link to the Information Form (that contains the Registration Link inside of it).
Same event but different venue. The old Yegua club was something special.
David is signed up and will be in attendance.
Good evening everyone, sorry for the delay of the 2025 Republic of Texas writeup. Here are some links to info about the match:
Thank you so much to everyone who attended. Scott and I are looking forward to ROT 2026 and the AAFTA 2026 Nats.

Jeff, Excellent match report and Great spreadsheet work. Pleased to see the ROT back in the game. Recognize many familiar participants from the old days and many new ones. Congratulations to all those that seem to have resurrected this old Texas GP back to good health.
Thanksto Jeff and the ASC crew for holding the match.
Excellently planned, designed, and executed.
It's always difficult to accommodate the different divisions and classes within AAFTA in a single match, this one came pretty close. As airguns and, above all, pellets, have evolved, we now have the challenge to make it interesting to classes that are dis-similar. So, it will be a learning curve, and hopefully, we will keep all FT within one governing body.
Thanks for the writeup, the scores and the pictures!
Here are some more, as usual, the lane and a zoom in of the targets:

And more pictures:
It was a pleasure and a privilege to share the shoot with two great and longstanding friends: Ken and Matt:
Now, TWO notes for MD's:
IF you are going to use miniaturized KZ's, then make SURE that the KZ's are truly rounded, and free of borders/nicks.
Why? lead gets attached to these and the most minuscule particle of lead protruding, WILLL make the pellets, that are spinning, at least, at 36,000 RPM's to twist and lock the faceplate:
ALWAYS make sure that the KZ's are visible from low positions:
Not only is it impossible to RANGE properly through grass. Grass will deviate a pellet.
We had a conversation of what can be done in these cases, and I will put the question to the MD's here in a different thread, so as not to hijack this one.
It was a ton of fun and enlightening to see a face of Texas that I would not have imagined otherwise.
THANKS, keep well, shoot straight, and see y'all soon!
HM
Thanks for the great pics and kind words, Hector.
On the two target faux pas, that tiny frog looked great in the morning and you are shorter and sit lower than Scott Squatch and I, so we missed this one when checking Targets but won’t miss for the next match.
