During the 2025 season, we will be collecting aggregate season results from the field target clubs along the Pennsylvania-Maryland border. All AAFTA style field target events at the participating clubs will be included in the series scoring.
This series is meant to foster participation at the region's field target events, and encourage competitors to attend each club at least once during the season. Your best placing at a club will be your score for that club. The 4-club score is the series score, with tie breakers being the fifth club score, then total event participation.
Clubs part of this series are:
-
DIFTA (Damascus, MD)
-
Delaware County Field and Stream (Brookhaven, PA)
-
Falls Township Rifle and Pistol (Fairless Hills, PA)
-
Atglen Sportsmens Assoc. (Atlgen, PA)
-
Palmyra Sportsmens Assoc. (Palmyra, PA)
Scores will be updated periodically following the individual club's results announcement. The first match of the season is on March 22, the series results will be blank until those results are entered. You can follow along throughout the season using the following links. (they can take a long time to load, be patient.)

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
Great methodology.
Just ONE observation: PSA only hosts one AAFTA shoot per year. Isn't this a bit punishing?
(I am really only encouraging you to add another AAFTA sanctioned match per year, LOL!).
😉
Again, thanks!

@hector_j_medina_g - All PSA's FT events are included (April-Nov), and are derived using the 60 shot format. AAFTA is meant to mean "under 20fpe" event (not to be confused with PSA's Long Range FT events 28-80fpe ). If someone chooses to shoot beyond the 60 shots, only the first full 60 shot course will be considered. Also, if someone partially shoots the 60 shot course, their partial score will count for participation.
All our <20fpe events are AAFTA rule events, it's just that we don't force you to participate for 60 shots, although most choose to shoot 60. Although casual, we still get scored. Really, the main differences for our August AAFTA match is timers, shotgun start, and must go in with the intent to shoot the entire course - it's run more like a GP than a casual event.
You can see how the stats worked out for the 2024 season by scrolling to the links at the end of the info page - https://www.palmyrasportsmens.com/MDFTSeries .
The 2024 stuff was done to confirm the scoring method, and attempt to resolve problems with the spreadsheet templates. It's not an "official" season result, rather an example of what could have been.
OK, now I get it.
I did look at the 2024 scores and noted that the scores under the system were very "reflective" of the marksmanship abilities of each shooter.
Which is an incredible feat for a system that assimilates different power levels and shooting styles and has a variety of participants.
Of course, it also plays to the fact that the region has a long tradition of reasonable setups/layouts and the limit of a minimum of 75% of possible also caps the occasional folly of an MD or of Mother Nature (weather-wise).
I would still encourage you to host another AAFTA "formal" Match shoot per year. . . . . ROFL!
😉
Keep well and hope to see you this weekend at DIFTA.
