@gonzav Leo, This match was not on the MM schedule or at least where it was a printout of their schedule. Haven't got anything set up for FT yet but I am itching to find some good weather to shoot. If the weather is decent I will try to make it.

It’s on the Minuteman FT calendar. You have to expand the day to see other matches listed.

Anyways. Pray for good weather. Hope to see you this Sunday.

@bill_day

I don't know if this is good, or bad. You being a Maine inhabitant, I would assume you are pretty tough weather-wise.

My weather service says there is 40% chance of a whole day drizzle, at the rate of 0.02 inches per hour for a total for the day of about 0.3".

Temps should start at around 36° and top at around 44° by the end of the Match.

Since the Match will be in a wooded area, I would take my waterproofs (for me and my bumbag, but you do not use one), clean my gun all over with Pledge the night before and go.

😉

Hope you make it. Hope I COULD make it, LOL!

Have a good shoot!

Remarks:
This was our first field target match for 2025. We were lucky to have 10 people brave enough to shoot in the cold windy weather. It snowed and then rained setting up the course the day before.

After a brief safety meeting, we had people assigned squads and lanes. I am happy to report we did not have any cold lines. We had left all the targets out all winter long and they functioned well. The course was the same setup from last year's CT state match.

The wind blew behind the shooting position and switched left and right in 45-degree angle. Many misses occurred when the wind switched directions upon taking a shot.

Scott forgot his fill probe for his FX rifle. He was only able to do 12 out of the 15 lanes.

Continental breakfast was served before the match, and chili was served for lunch after the match.

Thank you for the people who helped clean up afterwards.

@hector_j_medina_g

Hector, The age factor has kicked in and gets worst every year. Getting my equipment wet is another consideration. My wife had her right shoulder replacement two weeks ago so that is my major consideration. She is on the mend and had her first PT appt yesterday. We will cross paths soon.

The weather up this way has really sucked this winter. Jan until Middle of March the temps didn't get above freezing. April has snowed, sleeted, or rained almost everyday.  Yesterday it was the best day I have seen since the end of last October. Today it started out raining but now the sun is actually out and approaching 50 degrees.

Take care, Bill

The Irish say that as long as there is enough blue sky to make a pair of mens' underpants, it has been a sunny day.

😉

Best to you and yours.
