Remarks:
This was our first FT match of 2020. We had to make changes to make it COVID-19 compliant with the state of CT. Face coverings are mandatory when getting closer than 6 feet. We had a flexible start time from 9 am to 3 pm. Most people got there by 9 am. Only one person occupied each lane and scored themselves. The 3-foot-wide lanes were spaced 6 feet apart. Most finished over an hour shooting the entire course. A few people shot again a second time with a different class and/or rifle.
It was a windy but sunny day. It was a perfect day for shooting except for the wind. Many got the closest and mid-range targets easily, but the farthest targets were the most challenging sometimes requiring inches of hold off into the wind.
Matt Brackett was brave enough to shoot a 6.5 FPE springer and did well under the harsh wind.
We had 10 people start around 9 am and the last person showed up around 1 pm.
After 2:30 pm, we had Chas and Pete help take down the course. We were able to finish cleaning up by 3 pm. It was great to see everyone and hope to do this match again in several weeks.
Next FT match: TBD 2020 June Sunday

Congrats, Leo!
Good shooting by your goodself! Glad to see you're keeping in shape. Let's see how we can all do at 2021 South Africa, and IF we can all go.
Clearly a well designed layout as there is not too much difference between divisions and classes. Great Shoot!
And congrats to the "Iron Men Matt's" shooting twice the course 😉
Keep well and shoot straight!

Hector,
Thanks. Been trying to be compliant with the CDC guidelines. It seems it will be a requirement for this year to wear a mask while shooting field target or any outdoor activity. I wish there was an Android and IOS scorecard app made for AAFTA field target (60 shot 30 target) matches so we can do paperless scoring on smart phones or tablets. A flexible start time works well for a local match when some people cannot shoot in the morning.
Trying new things to make FT possible during the pandemic.
Stay safe and healthy,
Leo
