Howdy airgunners,ya”ll missed a good FT match to close out the year.If you were there, you know what I mean. While shooting at the FT Nats, the North Carolina airgun club’s hospitality was simply fantastic. The North Carolina airgun cLub’s hard work paid off with a fine weekend of shooting Field Target. They had two very challenging Field Target courses, with The blue FT course was staged within the heavily wooded forest with plenty of dark areas so shooters without lit reticule were in trouble while the White FT course had targets staggered one either side of an open trail and one side was facing the SUN!!so the Sun’s Glare & hold- over shots was “word of the day“,Saturday afternoon!!Match Director Scott Allen made sure all shooters were updated & match ran smoothly and Match Marshall’s kept all “cold lines”to a bare minimum!! Luckily while at this prestigious yearly field Target Match I was able to meet a good airgunsmith and rekindled friendship with good old airgunning friends.Sure winning is fun but for me,just being alive and enjoying LIFE with airgunning friends will do just FINE!! C ya at Baton Rouge next year!!!Happy Shooting Trails everybody &.tkx,OffHandHero
Hector, thanks for the kind words & I'm glad you enjoyed the courses. When we got the bid to host the Nationals, I started looking for another location for a second course. We normally shoot the Blue Course(woods). I have 25 lanes set up there & hold an annual European WFTF style match. I could have easily got another 5 lanes in but thee was just not enough room for 100 + shooters on the woods course. So I got a map of TCRC property lines & started looking. That's how I decided on the gas line. Two types of woods, open gas line, different wind angles, light & dark shots, etc.. I put a lot of hours into those courses to try to make them interesting & challenging. So having you & others tell me that you enjoyed shooting them, has made all of the effort worth while. I also have to thank the rest of the THAGC members for the blood, sweat, & tears put into everything else required for this event. It was a true team effort. I'm the same as you. I can't wait to see what the Bayou Airgun Club will have in store for us next year . Thanks again for the kind words & coming to shoot with us.
It was interesting for sure getting to shoot with you Hector. You shot so well and to miss by a point must be motivation enough for next year.
Again Chris, thank you for running what I would consider to be a Flawless event. You and your crew were awesome and on point.
I'll see everyone at a few GP's and in Baton Rouge next year.
