My favorite parts is I no longer have to carry that Randolph Rest to my game anymore. I'm near enough to 79 to be there. I don't miss having to carry it to my truck, Drop the tail gate and lift the Randolph in a custom pelican case with rear rest and tools in it. Plus go back for my rifle and stool. When I get to my indoor or outdoor match drop the tail gate again lower it to the ground. Then carry it into the indoor range to set up on a bench. Then go back out and get my Rifle in a Pelican or soft case and my stool and return to my bench. Years back it was no problem but now I just find it very difficult. In the Hunter class I carry my rifle and my bipod in my small range cart and my bucket in the other hand. Enter the range and I'm ready to shoot. I find it much more comfortable shooting from my bucket off the floor and easier equals much more fun and I mean that. Gives me plenty of trigger time in my Field target off season. It's a little more challenging getting a 10 having to touch a bullseye less than 3/8 of a inch (.300) at 25 yards and even more difficult to shoot 24 more of the same size targets to get a perfect score of 250. That right now is my goal and believe it is achievable. It by no means would likely be an every match occurence but i have found staying in the 240's is very feasible. The 2026 Indoor USARB Scoreline has started so give it a try and don't get discouraged. We shoot indoors off a polished cement floor so I have found rubber tipped bipods work the best on hard slippery surfaces. Some shooters use a matt to stabilize their sticks.
I'm serious considering selling my Randolph one piece with case and randolph custom one piece rest extension. If you know anyone that is looking for one that is in very good condition with no issues let them know. I know what they are worth and can save someone some bucks.
Apologies, I made a small error on the size of that 10 scoring ring it is 3/32" instead of 3/8" Little more difficult off a bipod but I still believe a score of 250 is possible in competition. It takes a very steady aim and great trigger work for each shot. Then make the same shot 24 more times on measured 25 yard target. ???? Professionally scored with scorers that don't shoot and use the best tools to score available. Maybe harder than I think it is going to be 🤪
I thought we could edit our posts but on my first post I could not find any way to edit my thread. Seems like the only possibility for a edit is before the "Add reply" is pushed.
