Hello all Jacob here.
I am wondering if anyone would like to divulge information on the average scores they shoot?
Seeing lots of really good scores posted but, what can be expected as an average score for being competitive?
After some testing and studying it would seem breaking 200 as an average would be considered good?
It would also seem shooting a 210-215 makes it to the final card but winning the finals is pretty much a toss up?
Aside from Centercut I am not seeing much for trials and tribulations posted with high scores. Interested in seeing what people think on this.
While we are picking at sore wounds to say lol. What caliber / grain do you consider the 100 yard holy grail air rifle round?
My picks: .30 caliber with the 44 grain pellets seem to be best with natural unforgiving conditions.
My reply might be OBE, but I’ll post for historical reference.
For Sportsman Class your estimate is a bit low, this year at EBR the cutoff was 446 (combined card 1 & 2), with the top score of 479. So you’ll about 223 each day. I looked back at the 2019 scores and 223 was also the magic number and 218 in 2018. I suspect that in 2022 the cutoff will a two day total of 450.
Hope this is helpful to someone.
Regards,
Al D.
