I want to put a peep sight on the rear of my HW77. I used to have a peep on an old HW55 that had a large thumbscrew to hold it in place. I would like to have a Weihrauch but if anyone has any suggestions for an after market sight that might work I might consider that too. My Anschutz doesn’t work on the Weihrauch, I tried it. Thanks.

well that old style Weihrauch shows up every now and again and in reality it is a diopter

now where to find one at a good price, here in the states they will be 100 to 150 bucks but in Germany they could half that of less but it not that easy to play on Egun, not hard but not easy
also give a measurement i have Anschutz, a FWB 300 sight, the Diana's won't work but a Model 100 could and the Diana 82 might work but good luck finding that one
even the sight off a Daisy 853cm might work

A vintage Anschutz diopter sight really should fit any Weihrauch with the 11 mm scope groove spacing, I’m curious what the issue might be - my avatar pic is an HW 55 with an Anschutz sight. As far as I know, all HW 77’s should have 11 mm grooves.
I actually prefer using those. They are lighter than the HW sight, don’t drop down behind the receiver top to interfere with your thumb (if you have small hands and short thumbs like me, makes it very hard to reach that side-button safety!), and the clamping action is so strong you don’t really need the hold-down screw.
That being said, the classic old HW diopters turn up pretty often, though you may have to be patient. Take a look on Ebay and the gun auction sites, as well as airgun classifieds (be creative when searching; they will often be listed as “Anschutz” sights because apparently some sellers think all nice sights are “Anschutzes!”).
Be sure to verify whether the scope groove spacing matches your gun. HW switched from 13 mm to 11 mm spacing in the late 70’s, and otherwise identical-looking sights were made to both specs.
I found some on Ebay but they were listed as Walther/Anschutz sights and they looked different. Probably were Walther. Most were in Bulgaria or Hungary someplace. Positive feedback, but still...
My Anschutz sight is of the higher end International type. The base of it is not split like the standard sights are. If a standard sight will work, I just may be able to find one of those too. Thanks
i'm thinking it might be too tall on the tube to work with the front blade just a guess
and the 2 seller that are were in Bulgaria are guessing what they will work on and Playtime is still in Bulgaria but Riovasil has moved to Greece

The groove on my HW77 is definitely 11mm. My Anschutz sight is not split and is just a tad small and I don’t want to force it and scratch the bluing.
As far as the front, I have an extra HW globe front sight with a circular aperture that I’m going to use. Yes the fixture on the front is grooved under the standard sight to accept an HW globe front. It sits higher on the grooved fixture than it normally does clamped to the barrel. So a higher rear might be good. I did try a couple Redfields and my Anschutz front on the grooves just to see if they fit, but no luck. Thanks for the help gentlemen.

Interesting - my Anschutz sights are all the older ones with the split base, those are great as they are flexible enough to accommodate some variations in rail width while still holding very firmly. They work fine on HW’s and Dianas (but not Walther or FWB which have wider rail spacing). The steel “Universal” models are my favorite but the simpler alloy ones work fine and are lighter.
All old Anschutzes seem to run about the same price on Ebay etc., these days, but FWIW when they were new the steel ones - OEM on their top rimfire match rifles - cost about twice as much.
I’ve bought several things from the gent in Bulgaria and been happy with them. But you definitely have to know what you’re looking at, he carries some odd-looking things in addition to the “name brands.”
I bought one of the diopter sights from the ebay seller in Bulgaria. It is all steel and blued. He advertised the sight as a Weihrauch / Walther sight as well as Anschutz and Fienwerkbau. I have used the sight on HW 30S and Beeman R9 and recently put in on a Fienwerkbau 300S. It has worked well on all 3 without changing front sight. It took around 4 weeks to arrive. No problems with the seller.
Those sights should work with European accessories, but not US ones.
I can't speak for all the oddball sights, but I have a very similar one, and its aperture thread seems to be the same as all other modern German sights: 9.5 mm x 1.0 mm. It takes eye disks from other brands of sight, or the accessory makes like Gehmann, Centra, and AHG Anschutz with no problems. This standard has been around since at least the 1950's.
The thread on most US sight eyepieces (Williams, Lyman, Redfield) is 7/32" x 40 (also known as "12-40"). The famous British Parker-Hale sights are also 7/32 x 40, BUT the old English thread-design standard makes them slightly bigger in diameter. P-H eyepieces will often fit in Lyman sights but alas, pretty much never Williams ones.
