Got a new wing shot shot gun and been shooting the bird shot but would like to shoot an accurate bullet or round ball , has anybody gotten good results with either and if so can you please tell me what they were , I don't expect it to shoot like a rifled barrel would but it would be nice to get at least some sort of decent accuracy from the gun, i"ve been shooting the no.6 bird shot on tree rats at about 15 yards with the tightest choke from Pyramyd Air and the bird shot cleans them up pretty darn good but im thinking bullets or round balls for bigger critters. Thanks for reading and possibly helping me out.

With the smoothbore, your best option will be the airbolt for big game.  Round balls or foster type slugs will only be good for maybe 25-40 yards,  Depending on the size of your target.

You will not be able to fire bullets from a smoothbore and round balls will never be very accurate. You will need an aerodynamically stable projectile which can also generate a small amount of spin for accuracy. Many pellets are aerodynamically stable but they will not spin. There are some slugs designed for shot guns which attempt to generate their own spin but I don't think they are very accurate either.

You will need specialist ammunition which I am not sure exists in .5 inch calibre.
