It is one of the VERY FEW combos that actually make sense.
BUT, if you are thinking of something different, then remember that the ASP20 has Picatinny rails (unlike most airguns), you should be able to use some of your Weaver rings, just use good ones. If you have true Picatinny bases, then by all means use them. In the firearms world, drooped bases are called "long range" or "sloped" or some other term, and they are used for shooting at ranges farther than 700 yards. They are not cheap, but they are not too rare either.
MOST ASP's that have passed through my hands have had no droop but also, most of them were combo's.
As far as scopes for springers, I would recommend the SIGHTRON SIH FT in the reticle of your choice as a "base" model, you can also use SOME of the STac's as not all of them have close focus capabilities.
The Vortex Diamondback Tactical is an interesting scope, but it is much larger than the SIGHTRONs mentioned above.
As a retailer for both brands I can tell you that both warranties are absolutely the best in the industry.

Hopefully, after the new year, I will acquire a Sig AG. I would like advise for scope and mounts for this gun. Thank you.
I have been pleased with this scope on my HW95L, Hawke AIRMAX 30 SF COMPACT 4-16x44 which is compact, 6 brightness levels for the IR and side focus for parallax.

I have a sightron on my 1710, but it has very fine crosshairs; I do like it though. Also, have you shot or know others who have to verify the 50+ yd accuracy of the Sig shown on videos?

I have an Air max 4-12x40 on my HW97k, but don't know if it would hold up to a magnum.
ChemClay/Ron.- SIGHTRON will change reticles when it is possible. And I am not being facetious. It's just that without knowing WHICH model you have, and WHAT reticles are available for THAT model, it is not easy to say firmly yes or no.
Let me know the exact model and what reticle you want, and we'll look into it.
SOMETIMES, you are better off getting an altogether new scope. It really depends on the age of the scope in question.
I have shot a number of 40 yards groups with ASP20's they easily hover around 1" c-c. The rifles have liked either the 16 or the 18 grs JSB's MOST of them have shot better with the 18 grs.
Now, my friend who shoots Metallic Silhouette in Mexico, under MEXICAN rules, shoots the rams at 50 meters (about 55 yards), and he says that, from a rest, the gun will put 20 consecutive pellets into the rams easily (that would mean a spread of less then 1.25" vertically and 2.25" horizontally; AGAIN, this is at 50 METERS.
Since he has placed top 3 in several competitions, I have no reason to doubt him.
I would like to add this:
The 48 is a much more COMPACT gun, so you need to take into account your PHYSICAL size when choosing a gun. The ASP is a really large gun.
Powerwise, they will be more or less the same. Noise-wise, the ASP will be less noisy.
If you like the breakbarrels, then you would probably be happier with the ASP, if you can adpat to the sidelevers, the 48 is a way that has a lot mor "future" for you as an airgunner because you can always transition later to a 54. The ASP is a closed end. Notice I said CLOSED, NOT DEAD, and that was on purpose.
As a hunter, I would prefer the 48 because maneuvering in thick bush with an ASP would be a nightmare. As a shooter, I would prefer the ASP because it benches better. 48's require some special techniques to shoot well from benches.
Whatever you choose, if you want to buy new, drop me a line, we'll see what prices we can get for you.
Keep well and shoot straight!

Leupold EFR and I used to recommend Burris until 2 failed on springers. So far zero failures with Leupolds on springers. I wouldn't recommend anything Chinese made on a Springer regardless of warranty or manufacture claims. Maybe a Vortex Crossfire 2 with the AO but nothing else made in China. Other than the Leupold I would suggest a Japan made scope for durability on a Springer maybe Philipines like Sightron lower models and the S-TAC and the OLD Simmons 44 mag and Whitetail classic or Bushnell Legend 5-15x40AO seemed pretty tough.
