Am I losing it?
One of our VA shooters wants to start airgun pistol shooting. He saw the 2300T at the Golden Age Games this year. I suggested he get a 1740 before spending three times as much on the 2300T.
Turns out I can't find the 1740 any more. Am I blind?
Also...I see that the RWS Hobby wadcutters (recommended for this pistol) are packed in 300ct tins instead of 500ct tins. How long have I been asleep?

Being relatively new to airguns, I didn't even know Crosman used to make a 1740 and thought all .177 XX40 shooters were modified afterwards. One of my most favorite shooters is a custom Mountain Air 1750 (pretty much the same as a 1740 for the most part). Attached with a 1399 stock and a 21" barrel it sends 7.9 and 8.4 pellets at close to 780 fps with dead-on accuracy up to 30 meters. Without question my #1 CO2 shooter.
