I got a tip from a friend about some spring rifles from a collection for sale. He told me they might have an FWB 124D for sale, so I contacted the seller.
In fact, they had 2!! So, I asked for some pictures and low and behold ....my Holy Grail 124 Queen Bee appeared!!!
I had to contain myself when finalizing the deal. I couldn't and still can't believe that I finally got an opportunity to purchase one. They always seemed like an unobtainable commodity for me. To actually get a chance to buy was surreal. Last one I saw sold on some auction a couple of years ago for beaucoup dollars.
Everyone please say a prayer that they arrive safety! Lol.
That bottom one has some GORGEOUS wood. Got more pix?
Joe
I don't have any pics yet. But I'll be showing more upon arrival .
I think that bottom one might be factory walnut. Need to do some investigation once I get it.
Updates to follow!
Yes, factory, but a NICE factory!
Needs more truck liner paint. ?
Factory lumber or not, THAT is my kind of 124. Gorgeous find, John!!
I like the fact that because they had two, you bought two, even though the other one is just a "basic" 124D (although it does look to be in very nice shape as well!).
They aren't being shipped from Nigeria are they? From a royal family member that needs cash to inherit millions? ?
If so, I have reason to doubt their sincerity.
Kindly 'Ol Uncle

You hit the nail on the head....pun intended! Lol
I'm super careful handling it. Don't want any accidents.

There is a similar one on GB on an R1. Guy is asking nearly 3000 dollars !!! They are out there, but rare as hens teeth!
The new pics show it off even better -that is one heck of a piece of lumber on there! Just gorgeous!
I'm pretty sure those are not queen bee's. They are a different stock design entirely:

I'm afraid that you are correct. Someone sent me a post from the old yellow tap talk. It was about a rifle called the "King Bee".
Apparently this is still a Beeman Custom Shop, but not a Gowdy made one. Supposedly, it was made by Weatherby for Beeman. I would post the link, but I'm not sure how to do it. Lol
Either way, it is still a great find for me. Thanks for your post!
Queen Bee or not, that's a very nice 124 with an awesome piece of wood. FWIW, as long as you're happy with what you gave for it I say enjoy it. Take it out now & then and admire it, run a few pellets thru it, then wipe it down and admire it some more, lol. Then put it away until the next time. ?
John, would have to agree with Jim above with slight variance.
Admire it-shoot it-wipe it down-admire some more..........
Then send it to me!!!!!! OF COURSE I'M DREAMING!!LOL

Houli....anytime you want to try it out, you know where to find me! Lol. My range is always open for you as well as anything in my collection.
Now let me get back to the King Bee! It's been almost an hour since I looked at it. Lol!
