Just received a "new to me" Walther LGV Competition Ultra in 177 so I am "temporarily" suspending my break in shooting time for my HW50s Hunter until further notice. Why? OH MAN! For ME, it is extremely easier to shoot than the HW50s Hunter. It is my second LGV Competition Ultra in 177. I know, no fair, apples to oranges right?
Upon close inspection, this one looks as though it used to have open sights but apparently, wasn't included with the rifle. I am unsure if the seller forgot to include them or they weren't part of the sale but the sale ad made no mention that the sights weren't included.
Having a "BLONDE" moment AFTER the fact. My bad, I never asked, only saw the picture and noticed it didn't have sights so I thought it was like the LGV Master Pro with clean no sights finish which was actually the reason I just jumped on it like I did and didn't even try to haggle the price.
I bought this one as a second (identical, almost no sights but obviously used to have sights) 177 gun because it is a hard to find gun these days and my first one I had tricked out.
I plan to regularly use ONE and keep the other in the safe. It is THAT AWESOME TO SHOOT!
The plastic trigger bothers me (somewhat) for a gun in this quality level. Shipping cost for two $18.70(apiece) metal triggers for them from Krale (really) bothers me. There is a sharp edge on the adjustable cheek piece to be mindful of if adjusting the cheek piece height higher than normal which I personally don't need to.
On the PLUS SIDE, it is a real blast (literally) to shoot! The weight is heavier than an average break barrel springer but it shoulders perfectly and doesn't feel as heavy as it really is. It is also quieter to shoot than a springer of similar (or lower) power level. Though it has significantly more power, oddly enough, it seems easier to cock than my HW50s Hunter.
I would highly recommend a Walther LGV (of any style) to any airgun enthusiast. I have mostly HW (THE most of any springer brand), FWB (secondly), and RWS Diana (thirdly) springers and a lonely Air Arms (tuned) TX200 and a pair of Walther LGV Competition Ultras. My other springers are not in the same level as these so I won't even bother to mention , well, except for, at least a 177 B3 Chinese underlever that is fun to shoot (NO KIDDING!).
You won't be disappointed buying Walthers! I will probably see more Walther guns in the future added to the springer collection.

I feel like a little child playing with a new toy (HW50s Hunter) and just got another toy (LGV) then just stopped playing with the first toy. If you can remember your childhood toy playing days or watch very young children playing with their toys, you would know this feeling. I'll get back to the HW50s sooner or later (more than likely later, much later) but in all honestly, don't know when, but later...
If you haven't yet shot a Walther, you really owe it to yourself!
I am strongly considering a Bushnell Elite or Leupold EFR for this one.
And YES I was shooting it with NO SIGHTS so far! And still had FUN HITTING THINGS!

The LGV is the best OoB springer now in the market. Bar None.
They are capable of phenomenal accuracy if you do your part. I would suggest you try Sightmark's crossbow scopes in ultra-low rings. Or get the front sight and use a peep. Lots of fun.
Trigger BLADE was a disservice to the model, but the powers that be at UMAREX thought they would make tons of money on the "Match Abzug" . Remember it initially sold for $65, now it's down to $15.

I love my LGVs. Have one of each .177 & .22, both Master Pros from Krale. The .177 has a Vortek, Rowan Engineering Trigger (that I may have not installed perfectly), Carbon Fiber sleeved barrel, & a DonnyFL Tanto. It’s an absolute laser.

I feel as though I could have written the OP myself. This truly is the best OoB breakbarrel I have owned. It's in the heavier class of springer, both weight and power-wise, and it's just amazing.
I do also have an HW50s which is nice, and certainly lighter. I have several others in that class, and I love them all, but none have the near-PCP performance of the Walther LGV (mine is a Master Ultra or something like that). It doesn't seem to care how its held or how long it's stood in the safe, it shoots amazing groups with as much power as a springer ought.
A better trigger would be the only improvement I would add, and the confusion about the target trigger when this was introduced did not help. I still think every serious springer fan should own one of these rifles.
I believe the LGV internals are the all same and the open sights and various stocks differentiate them apart from one another. They seem to have a smooth firing characteristic reminiscent of a highly tuned (NON WALTHER LGV) springer. I am rather surprised the Competition Ultra came equipped with open sights as a factory standard (Except for my new to me which a previous owner removed and ended up not being included with the purchase) being their flagship "Field Target" style gun which usually gets some decent quality glass.
