Congrats, Mike. Looks like a nice one!

Soon as I saw that barrel drop when you slapped it I figured it was either cocked or the spring was broke and screwed itself together. That had to be kinda scary getting a gun that's already cocked and not knowing whether it's loaded or not. Wonder how long it had been cocked before you got it. Be interesting to see what kind of power it's putting out after being cocked like that. But on the positive side, since it survived the shipping like that you know that the trigger is safe. The way they handle things these days I'm sure it passed several "bump tests", lol.

Hi Jim.

Yeah it surprised me for sure , I thought  the same  either cocked or missing spring.

The ebay listing showed the barrel cocked  open  so I think it was cocked since LOL

I'll get a hornet spring for it and make a custom spring guide and grab a piston seal  if needed  love these guns

Nice R10 Mike. I bought a pristine .177 deluxe several years ago. The stroke on the R10 is 89mm vs 85mm on an R9 I had. The R10 was an easy tune for me. I tried the ARH ES3650 spring that Ed Canoles used to talk about. 34 coils of .120” wire. Easy cocking with room to space as you wish. Add a tophat and just turn down the stock guide.

I used one of the new style HW seals that worked VERY nice. Add one of the new cocking shoes too. In .177 it was a smooth 13+fpe with more spacing room open.Very pleasant shot cycle. I would like a carbine to go with my deluxe too. Have fun.

One thing I have yet to verify Iam thinking  the R 10 deluxe and the R 10 carbine are two different

R 10's   Is nt  the deluxe built  as  the baby brother  of the R 1  a little more hefty then the R 10 carbine?  and the R 10 carbine built a tad hefty

over the R 9   I may have  to get a deluxe to  find it  out LOL

thanks  for the info I will save that

I have a 177 R 10 carbine listed  on the classifieds    bluing  is nice but the stock has  fresh chips in it that just happened while  taking  the pictures

The Deluxe is certainly the same R10 action just as Beeman did with several other offerings. I believe the long barrel gun is a pound heavier than the carbine. Mine is 8 lbs 5 ounces which puts it about a half pound lighter than my R1. Like the R1 it takes good form to hit with as does any springer with a longer barrel. I did a write up on mine a few years ago.

  1. @sd5782

your findings  was that the R 10 deluxe & R 10 carbine were the same action ?

deluxe stock would make if feel larger with that longer barrel
