I'm going to contact John Hagan at hagantools@aol.com to see if he can make a batch of cocking levers for the Veteran.
As owners know, the Veteran would greatly benefit from a biathlon knob on the end of the cocking lever. I've seen one but it was custom made and a "one off" so no repeats, it took the guy 8 hours to make the entire lever. It seems the knob could be fitted to the Veteran lever, but it is so close to the frame that there is little room for it to fit unless you make a whole new lever.
There must be an answer. Any 3D printers out there willing to give this a try? It needs to be "offset" a bit from the lever, so the lever can close fully.
