Hi All,
So I purchased a brand new Umarex Gauntlet and have had one heck of a time with scopes. Several of them. I've added rail adapters, new scope rings, shims, laser bore sighter, etc... Yep, I've tried it all. I have the elevation and windage maxed out just to get on the paper. Shoots 1" groups at 65yards, but the scope isn't aligned with the barrel. I've tried several known good working scopes. Both work perfectly with a rimfire .22, so i can only assume it's the gauntlet.
For starters I attached the rings and added the scope. With dials both at center (zero) looking through the scope at a mirror the barrel is pointed off to the left. Using 100% of scope left adjustment the barrel is almost straight in mirror reflection. Same when using bore sighter. I have shimmed and shimmed. Finally got the windage worked out and now I can't adjust elevation enough to get on the paper.
Anyone else have this issue? I have searched all day, but can only find results for barrel bands.
Incredibly frustrated. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have two Gauntlets and have had no issues like that. A set of these rings will solve your elevation issues.

Problem solved! So my known good scopes are now moved into the known not so good category. Guess in the past few years of not shooting due to an increase in new back woods neighbors something must have happened to my spare scope as well as the scope on the mosin nagant. Took the scope off the savage .22 ( really didn't want to do ), but ... I'm 100% spot on with very little adjustment. Awesome rifle now that the barrel isn't crooked. ?
