Purchased this one at Columbus show. Middle pic. Was going to name her Bertha, but it came with a dog tag so Casanova it is! LOL

I only have two tins of pellets for it -a dented can FTT's and PolyMags. Found enough decent looking pellets from the FTT tin and came up with this:

Barrel tension and lock up is pretty loose. Also, I want the stock forend screws upgraded. Toward that extent I spoke with Dave Slade and he will drill and re-tap for appropriate screws. He will go completely through this one for me. Can't buy parts from Chambers since it falls under Firearm status over there anyway.

FWB 603 I got shoots all over the place in terms of velocity. I allowed myself to believe what the attached tag stated (and what I was told in email) for fpe to be consistent -that was wrong! No matter, I planned on having it resealed anyway at Pilkingtons, but Mr. Slade offered to take that one on as well. All said and done, I'll have slightly more than fair market value in it but that's ok too. 603jr's are very rare and I've been wanting one for years. Just wish everyone was more honest.

You'll need to replace that SS-2L with a once piece BKL 260 mount.  I had a 5040 mount that would not stay on that gun no matter what I did.

Too bad JM no longer sells the Kodiak Monolith kit.  I installed one, shot 10 rounds, then sold it.  I remember them being $100 for the kit alone about 15 years ago.

Yes, I remember when JM offered that kit. Doesn’t seem like too long ago when he still sold it….

I removed the SS2L straight away. I forgot to ask Dave about drilling stop pin holes for the UTG Weaver adaptor’s 2 stop screws that I have. I’ve got a set of Burris Signature rings with the 6 screw saddles and inserts. Gun will get a Lupy 3x9 EFR. At least that’s the current plan. Watcha think?

I wouildn't drill stop holes.  My 5040 smashed into the safety, taking the finish off of it and creating a nice dent.  I'd buy a BKL 260 and end the headaches.

Can't go wrong with the EFR in any situation.

BTW, that trigger is not a Rekord.  It's some kind of simplified, mechanical trigger that's part of the receiver.  Slade can lube it while he is in there.

Thanks. Yeah the trigger is quite stout and I don't want to mess with it for sure. I've read stories about people ruining sears trying to make it better. Since the sear is virtually unobtainable, I'll leave it be for Dave as you mentioned.
