Springer recoil and good scope durability are subjects that get mentioned together like bacon and eggs.  Some sites say the Hawke scopes can deliver, but what have you guys found to be the real case in that regard?  I'm talking about their track record in the field for lots of shots on springers that are basically 'hammers' on optics, like the Beeman Kodiak, RWS 350 or 54, and Beeman Crow magnum, etc.

Now, please understand that I'm NOT referring to the fact as to whether they are or aren't 'springer-rated', which often doesn't mean much.  Some manufacturers know to use that term as an incentive to buy.  And, I'm also not referring to whether Hawke will honor their warranty or not, because going to all the trouble of figuring out that the scope is the problem, removing the scope, then boxing it up and sending it back to the manufacturer is a lot of trouble I'd rather not have to endure.  In my experience, the best scope 'warranty' is the one you basically never have to use.

So, as to their proven track record, how are these scopes doing?  I should mention that I know a Weaver V16 or V24 can tackle the job nicely, but I can easily get a Hawke for $100 less (unless the Weavers are on sale).

Any other related comments are welcome.  Thanks in advance.

I had an Airmax 4-12 40 MAP 6 barf after not even a tin of pellets on an R9.

The good news is Hawke replaced it with the newer AMX reticle version. Time will tell how well it lasts.
