Grant Stace's forum has been down for a while, but he's on FB and posting airgun stuff. He is who he is and I'll leave it at that. Not sure if he's persona non grata, if he is take the post down. Some of his new stuff Crosman guns are quite impressive. Seem very steampunky. He's under his name on FB and posting pictures or vintage airguns frequently. Wish his forum was back up, was a great reference guide.
Lots I could share about Grant Stace, but I won't. (I have a whole folder of his personal attacks.) He's VERY talented, but not very stable. Be cautious in your dealings with him. That's all I will say.
@jiminpgh
I recall the stuff in the past well. I work in mental health and the courts and I deal with people similar to him regularly. I won't be dealing with him and I'd advise anyone to be cautious with him. Just posted photos of some of his newer works, I hadn't seen anything like that on a the Crosman platform before. Maybe it will inspire someone here to do something similar. Pretty cool magazine and breech arrangement and the built in peep sight on the bottom pistol.
Grant's forum was on the old Network54 platform (as was the old yellow and the Green Crosman forums...) so I wonder if his never got moved to another platform or if he was cool with the TapaTalk deal from taking over the NW54 forums.
the dude is talented but Id be ok never speaking to him again.....
He did transfer and for a time was a big Tapa cheerleader. Something must have triggered a meltdown between him and Tapa because his forum was up on that platform until recently.
Seems like a lot of creative and talented guys are not good businessmen. It may go with the territory. To be honest, I don't see how any airgun tuner or modder can make a living working on airguns. I guarantee you cannot make plumber or electrician wages and benefits working on airguns.

Funniest one was when he cut one of his breeches in half to spite a customer that hacked him off (Chevelle?). He posted pics of it cut in half and basically said, no soup for you! Ahhhh, good times, good times. Stuff like that made the Old Yellow interesting. Bunch of characters.
Grant Stace passed last week. He was an insanely good machinist but complicated person at times. May he rest in peace.
He cast some Girardoni receivers that were finished by forum members IIRC. Quite an achievement by both parties.
Correct me if I got any of the facts wrong
Girardoni (Girandoni) and outside lock air rifle shooting
Grant was recently active on the American Vintage Airguns forum - productively, as far as I could tell. It seemed he was making an effort to move past his previous issues (which I'd also "benefitted" from many years ago, LOL). I had some pleasant exchanges with him on the AVA and was sad to see a recent post there confirming he has passed away.
He was immensely skilled to put it mildly, truly a master old-school machinist and gunsmith. The project that sticks out in my mind was a beautiful, fully functional rendition of the Webley Whiting pistol prototype.
I have dumped nearly 9,000 of his pics from the Network 54 forum (unsorted) here:
